Hello,

So, my computer was working fine for several months, when one time I got a BSOD during bootup: FAT_FILE_SYSTEM, and since it's Windows 8, I got nothing else. Soluto states that it's 00000023. After a hard reset, Explorer hangs, and I get the dialog box prompting to end the process. When I choose the "End Process" button, it doesn't do anything. I then booted into Safe Mode, doing a scan with Malwarebytes and Avast, finding nothing. Also, a "sfc /scannow" does nothing. I then did a system restore, and it fixed the issue, however today, explorer still hangs.

My computer is a HP Pavilion dv7-6c43cl running Windows 8.1, and all updates are installed. I'm posting this on an alternate computer; even on [DEL]Safe Mode I couldn't get the logs, or even post this - IE hangs too.
[/DEL] Logs attached, however computer hung during creation, logs are up to what it finished in the time.
Thanks in advance[DEL], and I'll get the logs ASAP.[/DEL]

Test your HDD with HD Tune. If that's not possible, please burn SeaTools for DOS on a blank disk and boot your computer from it in order to test your HDD. SeaTools for DOS | Seagate

I'm in Safe Mode with Networking - that might be why. All my drivers are up to date anyway, and the Photosmart is enabled. Hyper-V is disabled in favor for VMware.

Try performing a clean boot. Did SFC find corrupt files or not? Have you run DISM?

On a clean boot (which helped a little bit), SFC did not find anything. DISM (ran by "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth") errored:

Code:
The restore operation failed. Either the repair source was not found or the comp
onent store cannot be repaired.

Error: 0x800f081f

DISM failed. No operation was performed.
For more information, review the log file.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

I did run DISM multiple times, it's the last one, if multiple are in there.

Thanks!
