    BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)

    Hey guys,

we have a problem with the new pc of a customer.

    The Specs are the following:
    Mainboard: Asus Maximus VII
    CPU: Intel I7-4790K
    RAM: Kingston 16GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10
    HDD/SSD: Samsung 850Pro 256GB + 1TB Seagate SV35
    Graphic Card: PNY GeForce 970 4GB GDDR5
    PSU: Termaltake smart M 750W
    OS: Win 8.1 x64

    Now to the problem:

as the customer says, sometimes when he turnes off the pc, the screen gets dark, but the fans are still moving.
It came up that he got a BSOD those times.

I analysed the dump files and found out that the Intel Network driver caused a problem (e1d64x64).
So i updated the driver, but today he got a 9F BSOD again. But this time Windbg says that the driver who is causing the problem is ntkrnlmp.
I digged a little deaper and the blocked IRP pointed to the following driver: \driver\tunnel

Now i don't know which driver i should update.
I hope you can help us.

In the attachements you will find the minidumps.

    Thanks, Akakern

I will post you the rest of the logfile as soon as we get the pc of the customer back.

But the part with the npf.sys driver is very interresting. The NetgearGenie is installed and i suggested yesterday to uninstall the software of the computer cause he doesn't really need it.

May you tell me how you came up with this driver? I didn't see anything in the minidumps about npf.sys. But i'm not really into analysing dumpfiles.

Maybe uninstalling this software already helped us out. I will call my customer today and let you know if this was the problem.
If not i will get the pc back from the customer and send you the rest of the log.

    But thanks anyway.

I have analysed the dumps using a BSOD Analyzing App thgat indicated that driver was outdated (meaning that installed version dates back from before 8.1 was released).
    Keep me posted.

Ok guys just a quick reply .. it seems that the problem was this Netgear driver.
Since he uninstalled the software he got no bluescreens anymore.

    Thanks for your help.

As I suspected. It was the only outdated driver on your system.
