Win 8.1 failed to start, file \boot\bcd, Status 0xc000000f

just tried a reboot and there has been a slight change:

Instead of the text being black & white it now is on a blue background with white text and it has Recovery at the top and says
    file: EFI\MicrosoftZBoot\Bcd
    Error Code: 0xc000000f

You'll need to use recovery tools on your installation media, Then at the bottom Press ESC for UEFI Firmware settings.
however it doesn't go any further, it is as if my usb disk has corrupted itself aswell!!!

Is there a way i could reinstall windows without have the product key, It's not on the bottom of the laptop like it used to be though i did see that windows had been activated when looking in system?

You can re-download the files needed to create the recovery drive and re-make a USB recovery drive (If I understood you correctly).

You can try to run the command: bcdboot X:\windows

Unfortunatley it is taking an age to redownload the installation files from Microsoft. It is currently predicting 13hrs, I go away tomorrow till Friday so if it doesn't download I'll have to pick this up next week. Please don't think I'm ignoring you
Is there a way to find out the product key and then do a full install? There is nothing on the laptop that i need but i didn't make note of the product key before it had it's problem and it isn't on the bottom of the laptop like it used to be

It could be encrypted in your UEFI (if it came with Windows pre-installed). That means that it will be automatically entered during the Setup when needed without asking you anything, however this is viable only when installing the same operating system (and edition of the OS that the laptop was purchased with). There are a few ways to find out your product key when you have an operable OS to work with, but since that's not the case...

Hi Guys, I'm back, sorry for the extended delay, anyway I am typing this post from the previously poorly laptop. I ran the bcdboot X:\windows command from the installation DVD command prompt that i downlaoded (it took 17 hours to complete) and the laptop booted straight away, so the first thing i have done is to write down the product key which i found using Produkey by Nirsoft. The strange thing is it came up with two product keys the 1st for Windows (BIOS OEM Key) and the 2nd for Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

So though I am very pleased that the laptop is running there are still a few problems I'd like to solve if you all can help.

Firstly, I'd like to do a completely fresh install of windows, so I know there are no problems and that I'm starting completely afresh. That said, where can I download the install disk for 8.1 enterprise? The DVD i made last week was just 8.1

Secondly, how can i make a recovery partition, as it was whilst I was trying to install the Samsung recovery program that the original fault occured?

Thirdly, What is the Bios OEM Key all about, I've never heard about it?

And finally, I'd like to say thank you for helping me, you have been really great, Thanks
