    Random Freezes

    Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing random freezes which I can't isolate to a specific program. I have run the BSOD tool, though I haven't been having any BSODs and but I still have attached it so.

    Points of Interest for consideration:
    • I am running Win8 on a MacBook Pro 5,5 with Bootcamp Drivers running under Windows 7.
    • Startup always pops up with two error messages regarding NVIDIA uninstaller, but I am unable to recall the exact message.
    • I have installed some third party programs such as KLITE codecs and Flash which could be causing troubles seen in other posts.

I hope you guys would be able to help.

    Cheers.

    Hi,

This is simple. You're missing the coprocessor driver for your NVIDIA nForce chipset. Download it and install using the device manager, after it extracts to a folder. (Close the installer then, after extraction.) The driver will be in the SMBUS folder.

    Code:
Coprocessor PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0AA3&SUBSYS_CB7910DE&REV_B1\3&33FD14CA&0&1D The drivers for this device are not installed.
When done, install the storage driver(s) the same exact way, from the chipset download.

    Code:
    Name ATA Channel 0
    Manufacturer (Standard IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers)
    Status OK
    PNP Device ID PCIIDE\IDECHANNEL\4&1913C0C&0&0
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\atapi.sys (6.2.8250.0, 22.80 KB (23,352 bytes), 2/18/2012 4:13 PM)

    Name ATA Channel 1
    Manufacturer (Standard IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers)
    Status OK
    PNP Device ID PCIIDE\IDECHANNEL\4&1913C0C&0&1
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\atapi.sys (6.2.8250.0, 22.80 KB (23,352 bytes), 2/18/2012 4:13 PM)

If you really need help on this (see what you can do first) - I'll make drivers to install for you.

Edit: Eh, whatever - here is the Coprocessor driver to install in the device manager. I made it already for ya. Do what you can with the storage and let me know how it goes:

Hi Gman, thanks for your fast reply and the drivers you created! Clearly going the extra mile.

I've installed the NVIDIA coprocessor through Device Manager, but I am unsure what you mean by storage drivers from chipset. Should I be looking on the Intel site for my CPU chip? Apple doesn't have the best record with drivers, I think as they are usually packed into their Bootcamp Installation Packages.

    Cheers.

    Hi Gman,
No dice, I couldn't find the drivers for the storage. Where would I find these drivers from?
However I did install your drivers that you provided, but still experiencing those NVIDIA uninstall popup messages at start up.

What I meant was, is the machine still freezing or not?

Install this for your SATA storage controller in the same way as before with the other driver. I just made this too. If for some reason it doesn't install well, I'll need more info from you about something.

When done, check the device manager properties for it, for the driver date to be 4/9/2010 and using nvstor32.sys.

If you're currently using AHCI mode, don't install it and let me know first.

    Hey Gman,
Sorry about the late reply, work got in the way. I've tried installing the driver, but the computer just crashes before complete install. Is there a safe mode I should be trying?
