Missing the startupinfo.txt file. Please either run the data collection app again, or do the following:
systeminfo:
Please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type (or copy/paste) "systeminfo.exe >%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\systeminfo.txt" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to Desktop to retrieve the syteminfo.txt file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back. Then zip up the .txt file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized. i5 and i7 processors can be "auto-overclocked" by using Intel's TurboBoost feature. If so, it's safe to disregard this caution.

HotSpotShield is a known cause of BSOD's in Windows systems. Please uninstall it immediately.

The system blames pgusbmm3.sys - which is the usb-audio.de MME Adapter Driver for a USB audio device.
Also implicated is Maya44.sys - a driver from Audiotrack belonging to product Maya44 USB Audio Driver.
Both date from 10 January 2013 - well before Win8.1 was released.

Please:
- remove the USB audio device and uninstall it's software
- test to see if this stops the BSOD's

If it does, then download and install the latest, Win8.1 compatible version of the software for the USB audio device and test that to see if the BSOD's return. FYI - I have seen many problems with USB audio in the past.

systeminfo

Thanks for the reply, Its very much appreciated.

the hotspot shield to my knowledge was removed from my computer, as for the sound card, ive checked the latest drivers, and that driver is supposed to be supported with 8.1

I'd be quite reluctant to remove the driver, as i need the sound card for live performance and production on a frequent basis, kind of hope that isn't the problem.

ive attached the systeminfo file, thanks again for taking time to reply.

(edit)

removed the audio drive, and so far had no problem, although i may need to re-install that drive, which im guessing you wouldn't recommend?

also i ran the chkdsk command for several hours and it got stuck at 10%, could that be an underlying problem?

thanks again

Leave the drive uninstalled for as long as possible.
If you remain BSOD free - then all is well
If you reinstall the audio device and then start getting BSOD's again - you'll know where the problem comes from!

How did you run chkdsk? Did you run it with the /r and /f parameters?
Did it get stuck at boot time, or at another time?
Have you run a hard drive diagnostic? Here's a link to some free one's: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Only 79 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 100 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

As for HotSpotShield, do this to remove the offending driver:
1) Create a Restore Point using System Restore
2) Create a Repair disc (Recovery Drive in Win8.1):
Win 8 - Press "WIN" and "R" to open the Run dialog...type "RECDISC" (without the quotes) and press ENTER
Win 8.1 - Go to the Start Screen and type in "recoverydrive" (one word, without the quotes). That will start the recovery drive process. You will need a USB drive of at least 512 mB - and all data will be erased off of it. If copying the recovery partition the drive size will be much, much larger (16 - 32 gB drive required).
3) Test the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive to make sure that you can get to the System Restore entry when you boot from the disk/drive (you may also want to try actually using System Restore to make sure that it works)
4) Download this free program (Autoruns for Windows) and use it to disable any instances of hssdrv6.sys that are starting (or any other HotSpot Shield entries) (DO NOT DELETE - only disable by removing the checkmark in the left hand column)
5) Check in Device Manager (to include showing hidden devices from the View menu item) and ensure that any instances of hssdrv6.sys (or any other HotSpot Shield entries) are "Uninstalled" (DO NOT DISABLE THESE).
6) Check in the Services applet (services.msc) to be sure any instances of hssdrv6.sys or any other HotSpotShield entries are disabled.
7) EXPERIMENTAL STEP (only try if you're certain of your abilities - I have not tried this step myself). Search the registry (use regedit.exe) to locate any entries that have the driver name (hssdrv6.sys) or the program name (HotSpotShield). Delete these keys (it's advisable to back them up first - but you've also backed up the entire registry when creating a System Restore point in step 1. Alternatively, you can set the values in these keys to DISABLED (but the "how" of this is beyond the scope of this guide).
8) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename the hssdrv6.sys driver to hssdrv6.BAD (search the hard drive for it if it's not in C:\Windows\System32\drivers).

In the event that the system doesn't boot:

1) Boot from the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive and use the Command Prompt option to rename hssdrv6.BAD to hssdrv6.sys
Code:
ren C:\Windows\System32\drivers\hssdrv6.BAD C:\Windows\System32\drivers\hssdrv6.sys
2) Boot from the System Repair disc/Recovery Drive and use the System Restore option to restore the system to a point before the changes were made.

Good luck!

thanks for the reply again, yeah i ran the chkdsk with the r parameter and after bootup, it sailed through 1,2,3,4% etc
as soon as it got to 10% of scanning and repairing, it stayed there, i left it for a few hours but it was stuck there.

I'm late for work, but a quick thought is to try DISM:

Then please run the following DISM commands to see if there's any problems with the system (from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt). Press Enter after each one:
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

FYI - I have repaired systems using the last command even though problems weren't found with the first 2 - so I suggest running them all.

From this article: Repair a Windows Image

You can also run sfc.exe /scannow from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt to check for further corruption.
