    Could it possibly be the motherboard graphics slot? I have used 2 cards and they both yield the same problem.

    It could be. I've seen cases like that. I'd suggest you get it to a shop and have an expert look at it. Would you mind listing all the components of your PC? Include the model, age and wattage of your PSU

    Sure, The MotherBoard is M5A97 R2.0
    The GPU is a Radeon R9 280
    The PSU is a RM750 Corsair
    Ram is 2 Fury Kingston 8gb
    The CPU is a AMD Phenom 965 x4

    That is more than enough to power that rig. OK, as I told you, at this point, I'd recommend you to visit a repair shop.
