BSOD on regular (almost hourly) interval 0x109 Windows 8.1

Hi all,

Really lost with all this. Upgraded my HP A6700F to add in a 240GB Intel SSDNow and put a retail copy of Windows 8.1 on it. Every hour or so it gives me a stop error:

CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION (ntfs.sys).

Tried chkdsk /r a couple times--nothing. Rolled back Nvidia SATA driver, BSO'D right away. So back to the current version (dated 2011 I believe). No further driver updates are available from HP so while I have a hunch/am hoping an update would fix it, I don't think it can in this case.

I have attached the minidump files here (and there are quite a few in there).

Also worth mentioning that I can basically make it BSOD on command by opening Quickbooks--not sure what the connection is there.

Anyways I appreciate any help...this is making me pull my hair out!!

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

The fact that it'll BSOD w/Quickbooks may help us - but it's also handy to know, since you can immediately test the suggestions that we make.

Did you do a fresh install of 8.1 or did you clone it from another hard drive?

Please turn Driver Verifier off (the purpose of Driver Verifier is to cause BSOD's - and all of the memory dumps you've submitted are due to that). To do this, open up verifier.exe (type verifier.exe into the Run dialog and press Enter) and select "Delete existing settings". Click on "Finish" and reboot in order for the settings to take effect.

Your UEFI/BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the UEFI/BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard. If possible, use the "inside Windows" flash mechanism (if your OEM provides one) - that is much more forgiving than the traditional (floppy drive) flash method.

I find a lot of problems with systems that have older BIOS's - and I find lot's of problems with older systems that have SSD's installed (the storage controller drivers usually aren't up to handling SSD's very well). We'll continue to try to fix this problem for you, but you'll have to be the one to decide if it's going to work or not. It may simply be that the system is too old to function reliably with the SSD and Win8.1. In that case, the things to try would be Win7 or Vista - both with and without the SSD.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
