i have been getting this error both on win 7 and win 8.1 from a long time now. it happens randomly. but i have found that doing the following things raises the chances.

1)Accessing internet via browser(Chrome/opera/seamonkey)
2)When laptop runs on battery
3)I am using a modem UE100 prithvi solution modem, Its application suite name is BSNL connection manager(Could it be because of this?)
4)I have done several clean installs of the OS, and when the important drivers are not installed, it runs absolutely fine(I also use this modem at that time i.e. without installing drivers and it works fine).

i have also seen this while i was using windows 7

Sorry for the bad english.

I checked and found that all drivers are up to date. I also noticed that the crash occurs when i am changing power plan to asus's power plan software "Power 4 gear hybrid" which has two plans,
Power4gear hybrid high performance and power4gear power saver

Normal windows 2 plans "balanced" and "power saving". I am using "balanced mode" and so far no crashes from last 12 hours.
additionally, last night it occured when i was doing multitasking and transferring data from internal HDD to external HDD with USB 3.0 port. At the same time i was listening to music and browsing internet from multiple browsers.
It crashed 3 ~4 times while transferring 36 GB datas. After that , i used "balanced mode" power plan and the data transferred without any problems.

Then disable those driver by changing their extension to .bak. Create a sys restore point before doing that.

Thank you softwaremaniac for your help. while the issue seem to be minimized, i can't disable those drivers because those are necessary to connect me to the internet. i am not using the power4gearhybrid's powerplans anymore, and my system is not getting crashed as it used to be anymore. but still there were two crashes today.
the last time i was using avg pc tune up, which maintains pc automatically from time to time. i am not using it anymore because i have heard that the registry cleaner feature causes issues in systems.

but i want to get rid of the driver to completely fix this issue. i am using BSNL EVDO 1x UE100 modem(you mentioned its drivers in red). is there a way such that i will be able to connect to the internet using this modem, but without using its drivers?

i am only asking because i have previously done it with GSM sims softwares. notably i used HUAWEI mobile connect software to detect MICROMAX dongle and its sim and was able to connect it. But this time, the sim is CDMA.

Also, there is a "qualcomm atheros lan ethernet controller" software update available through windows update, is it safe to install it ?

Install an updated version and you should be fine. Yes, it should be fine because that should only update your existing version of the driver. If you experience any issues, you should be able to return to the older version.

Unexpected kernel mode trap BSOD-during windows update

I came to know that reason for "Unexpected kernel mode trap BSOD-during windows update" due to bsnl evdo usb modem driver "UE 100 1xEVDO USB modem" (Prithvi bsnl cdma evdo usb modem). But I cannot find latest driver for this driver. Every place the same version driver is available for download. Is any body found solution/(latest driver) for this issue?. Is there any alternative?

I cannot do windows upgrade due to this. Please help me guys.

@Avil172

I think you have faced same issue. Did you find any solution?
