After having my laptop for about a year (HP Envy) I recently started experiencing the BSOD for the first time in the past 2 weeks. It started about 10 days ago. After repeat occurrences, I thought I should reset my computer to factory state. So i backed up my hard drive to and external drive. Completely reset the computer to factory state. And just got done copying my files from the external drive back to the Laptop. withing 2 hours of BSOD happend.

Now i'm thinking it could be a virus...but I had bitdefender 2014 antivirus with no issues reported and right now I have windows defender scanning. Please help!

Only 9 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 70 to 140 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

Several Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If the problems continue, please post over in the http://www.eightforums.com/windows-updates-activation/ for further expert assistance with this issue.

BSOD's that continue after a system wipe are most often hardware problems. Please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics. Let us know the results and we can move on from there.

Beyond this, as there was only 1 memory dump in the upload, I have these 4 suggestions:
1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Get ALL available, Win8.1 compatible updates from the manufacturer's website.
3. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
4. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
