So I have been having this issue for a while now, basically whenever windows puts the monitors to sleep, the pc crashes and will not wake, nor can I remote in/etc. I have previously researched this, and I suspect it is related to my 290x. Something about either the BIOS or drivers, when the card goes into its power saving state it crashes.
My temporary solution to this was to just change the display sleep time to "never". However I windows keeps changing it back to the default 20min?? I am about ready to pull my hair out, I have no idea why it keeps changing back to 20min from this Screenshot by Lightshot
I am basically just looking for confirmation at this point that this issue is 290x/AMD related. There is an alternate BIOS I can flash to the 290x that will basically keep it from downclocking when idle, and thus never entering the power saving state that causes it to crash although this is not ideal and somewhat of a headache to do.
If these crashes are related to something else please let me know!
Thanks,
-Tyler
