Ok. I use cloud for documents but I have back-up services already enabled. Should be ok if the drive fails.

I still suspect the hub. Your PC is acting normally without it, right?

I use it plugged in to the hub 4-5 days per week, 1 day per week without the hub. What's the best way to troubleshoot if it's the hub vs. a peripheral that doesn't play nice when connected to the hub?

Use the system of elimination. Use your PC without the hub. If there are no BSODs, then plug items into the hub one by one until you find the culprit, and it could be the hub itself.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. Wondering though if it is not the hub, which of these devices is most likely to be the problem when connected via the hub. (e.g. monitor, mouse, router). I would want to add those back in order of most to least likely.

I think I have enough ports to plug everything in directly, but leave the hub connected without any devices attached to it. I suspect though it is some combination of the driver needed for the hub and another device.

That said, no crashes yet today with everything running through the hub.

    5-6 days and no crashes.

However, I have been leaving my laptop open while plugged into the hub and only waking from sleep using the power button instead of external keyboard or mouse. May not have anything to do with anything since the crashes are not timed around that scenario.

But, am closing the lid since I don't want to add unnecessary wear on the laptop screen. Will go back to the "normal" way of doing things (using keyboard or mouse to wake the computer). If it crashes, then at least the issue will be narrowed down.

If it's ok, I would like to leave this thread open until I can rule that out.

Ok, so lid closed and plugged into the hub, I had a crash after about 4 hours of straight work.

    Conditions:

    1) woke the computer from sleep using the mouse prior to starting work using the machine
    2) 4 hours later, computer crashed when using mouse to highlight text on a webpage for copying. Crashes have happened in the past during this same action, or on attempting to paste, etc. But not exclusively.

So, it has to be related to one or a combo of the following:

    1) Having the lid closed and plugged into hub.
    2) Waking computer from sleep using the mouse or keyboard though crash happens some time later.
    3) Some weird issue related to the mouse itself in combination with having the lid closed.

I had some troubles with the touchscreen becoming disabled after disconnecting from the hub early on. But think I solved that problem by shutting the machine down before disconnecting, which is inconvenient but I can deal with it.

Thoughts on how to further troubleshoot?

Try using without the hub. The dump files are inconclusive. Was anything else plugged into the hub at the time of the crash?

Hello. Over the past 18 days since I've had Windows 8 installed, I've been getting multiple BSODs at random with ntosknrl.exe being the root cause, and it's been driving me crazy trying to figure out why. I've attached a .rar of the SF tool files. Any help would be appreciated.
