oh right, i see I was thinking you told me to do that as a temp measure :-), thats cool all done now and seems to be ok, I have noticed that pc is running a lot less groggy now so that's great too.

I have new issue come up and not sure if it is as a result of new changes or not but I wouldn't of thought so and I don't know if you would have the answer, but my file history drive keeps disconnecting and I am receiving important message from the action centre to reconnect it. I have no idea about this issue my self!

Not sure what you mean about "file history drive" but you're welcome to take a screenshot of Disk Management and attach it here so we can see your storage situation.

Other than that, Windows 8 has a new service/feature called "File History Service". You may or may not find that useful, so you'll have to decide about it. Me personally? I have that disabled.

Yes, Norton products are quite notorious always causing crashes, freezes and slow system performance. Your pc is thanking you already for removing it. *Borat voice on* That's a true. *Borat voice off*

Solved HDD constantly trashing in Drivers & Hardware
Hi, I've recently installed Windows 8 on an Asus X201E. There is an audiable constant disk trashing, although the HDD LED doesn't blink & the Performance monitor in the task manager also doesn't indicate any excessive disk access (literally 0% when nothing is going on). What could cause this?...
