Multiple BSODs and graphics driver crashes.

So for about a month now I've been having blue screens while running certain games (Assetto Corsa, Project Cars) and other programs like the full screen apps downloaded from the store. At first I thought it was related to a possible HDD failure but after running several tests everything came back fine. I did a fresh install of 8.1 not long ago and for a while I had no issues but they came back.

Things I have tried: Complete graphics driver uninstall and reinstall, downgrading to a different version, upgrading to a different version. Complete wipe and reinstall of windows 8.1. sfc /scannow, chkdsk /f /r.
Here are the dump files since reinstalling.

Edit: Forgot to mention this is a laptop. Acer Aspire V3-571G-6407

Hi DJNads & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

The ZIP File uploaded by you is empty and does not contain any Dump files to analyse. Kindly re-run the Diagnostic Tool and make sure that you run it for at least 15 minutes or until the app says that it has finished the work.

Re-upload the freshly generated ZIP File and make sure that there are Dump files inside it ^_^

Hey sorry about that, I've run the diagnostics tool a few times but just doesn't seem to add anything to the archive. Can I just manually create the archive of minidump files and upload it? I'll edit this post with the archive if the tool works, but let me know if I can do it myself.

Edit: Sorry about all of that. Eventually got it to work but the program was causing some graphical issues. Screen would black out then show the lockcreen then hack to the desktop.

Here is the archive. Double checked that the program wrote to it this time.

Just want to bump this and say I jumped ahead a bit and just installed the VGA driver that comes from the manufacturer and my crashes with loading anything graphically intensive have stopped. My only question is why did that problem happen all of a sudden? I had been running with the nvidia driver pretty much since I got this laptop. Didn't update it recently when the problem started. Just happened out of nowhere.

Edit: Never mind.. The gpu driver crashes came back. My guess is drivers are conflicting somewhere. But yeah, no bluecreen yet, just crashing and recovering.

Try this method: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered Display driver - Microsoft Community
Be very careful. If you do not know how to do this, don't. Ask someone to do it for you, because registry editing is very dangerous.

That was one of the first things I tried. Neither of them actually stopped the driver from crashing. Stopped the video_tdr_failure bluescreen though when I did it.

Edit: Here is a minidump of the most recent bluescreen I had. It was driver_power_state_failure

    Hi DJNads ^_^,

I have analysed your latest dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-

And we have the NVIDIA Display Driver causing the problems.
Now, regarding your VIDEO related errors. For laptops, it is strongly suggested to use the graphics drivers provided by the manufacturer of the Laptop since they tweak the drivers so that it could support the Graphics Switching Technology. Generally, a laptop has an integrated graphics and an external Graphics Card attached separately on the motherboard. During heavy utilization like gaming, the external graphics card is turned on for maximum performance and while the use is normal like browsing, watching movies, the driver switches back to integrated graphics. This is done to provide performance and battery backup in the appropriate situations.

It seems that the NVIDIA Streaming Service is turned on. Kindly disable this Service from the Services Window (To open it, press Start + R , type in "services.msc" and hit Enter). This service is known to cause problems. Also disconnect your Razer Devices till the time we are troubleshooting with your system.
Remove TrueCrypt as well since it is vulnerable and caused problems in the past.

If the problem is still not solved, kindly take a look at this thread -
    BSOD please help

@Softwaremaniac - I have created a post on my website over here -
TDR Fix (For AMD & NVIDIA Users) - OMG Debugging!!!
Take a read and whenever you want to suggest that particular registry fix, just ask the user to download the file and open it up. Also make sure that you understand that this is not a fix but rather a workaround and the method suggested first in the website should be tried. I hope this helps

Thank you very much. What you do is greatly appreciated. Yeah, I forgot to uninstall truecrypt after running it for a few minutes while I decrypted some stuff to just use bitlocker. Could you explain how the Nvidia streaming service could be causing all of these issues? I'm assuming it's because my GPU doesn't actually support it. And thanks for the other link, I'll make sure to remove geforce experience if this issue persists.

Edit: After disabling the service, uninstalling Geforce Experience, Truecrypt, and Razer Cortex, and making sure I have the driver from the manufacturer installed, the driver crashing/recovering still happens.

Did you try the Registry Fix which I suggested in my previous post?
Are you only getting Driver Crashes/Recovering or are you experiencing any BSODs as well?

Yeah the registry fix/workaround was one of the first things I saw to do after researching the tdr failure. I haven't had and BSODs since reinstalling the original driver and uninstalling geforce experience. Just driver crashes/recovering when loading Assetto Corsa. (It might be an isolated incident with that game since it is still in pre-release, but I just want to make sure)
