    BSOD during browsing on Chrome

Today I got the BSOD for the second time since this week, while I was just reading stuff on Google Chrome. After turning the laptop off and on, everything works again.

Most recent things I installed new was the Chrome extension FB Purity, and at the same days I also got malicious Chrome extensions such as Boomcheap (tabs with surveys got opened during browsing). At Control Panel -> Software I found the program "gifter". I had to close Chrome first, and then I could remove it. At this moment I no longer have issues with unwanted Chrome extensions.

Today I also scanned my laptop on viruses. The viruses found and removed were: Application.BProtector.F and Gen:Variant.Strictor.68498.

Please let me know if I need to add more details / specifications of my laptop.

    Hi Fimu ^_^,

Unfortunately, the ZIP file uploaded by you does not contain any Dump files for me to analyse
Kindly check the folder "C:\Windows\Minidumps" and see if you are able to find any dump files. If you find any dump files, kindly ZIP them up and then upload them so that they could be analysed ^_^.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

    Hi Blueelvis,

I do not see the folder "Minidumps" at C:\Windows , even though I checked "show hidden items".

Why isn't it created? What are the other alternatives?

    Hi Fimu ^_^,

Well that is strange. See if you are able to generate the Dump files using the below guide -
Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD - Windows 7 Help Forums

Kindly set the system to generate Kernel Dumps. Once the dumps are generated, re run the SF Diagnostic Tool and upload the ZIP File so that it could be analysed.

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

    Thanks for your help.

I adjusted the system to generate Kernel Dump Files, and thereby I attached a new ZIP file.

Let me know if you find any dump files now. If not, I guess it's because I don't have BSODs anymore since I removed those viruses.

Hmm I got a BSOD again today. However, this time no viruses were detected, so I couldn't blame it to that this time.
I didn't got dump files because I rebooted the laptop instead (didn't want to make time to wait for it lol).

How long does it usually take to make dump files when a BSOD occurs?

The time taken depends on many things like whether you have configured the system to generate Complete Dumps then you whole RAM is copied into the Dump file which will take more time. The screen will keep on stuck in case there is problem in the mechanism of saving the Dumps etc.

Kindly run Driver Verifier according to this **GUIDE** and make sure that you let the Driver Verifier crash for few times before re-running the SF Diagnostic ZIP File to include the latest dumps.
