Hi forum!,

First post and love how you guys help out!

I am getting a BSOD when running "guild wars 2" in the background and doing web browsing, I have run bluescreen view as well as who crashed and it seems hal.dll+37213 is the issue, as per the sticky i have run the SF tool which collected everything you needed with out a hitch very cool!,

EDIT: A google search of hal.dll showed me this on a wikipedia page, So hal.dll looks like a generic error for hardware failure
All my hardware seems to be running fine, but if you can find anything more let me know!
[h=3]Hal.dll[/h]The Windows Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) is implemented in Hal.dll.[SUP][1][/SUP] The HAL implements a number of functions that are implemented in different ways by different hardware platforms. Other components in the operating system can then call these functions in the same way on all platforms, without regard for the actual implementation.

The HAL is loaded into kernel address space and runs in kernel mode, so routines in the HAL cannot be called directly by applications, and no user mode APIs correspond directly to HAL routines. Instead, the HAL provides services primarily to the Windows executive and kernel and to kernel mode device drivers. Although drivers for most hardware are contained in other files, commonly of file type .sys, a few core drivers are compiled into Hal.dll.
Kernel mode device drivers for devices on buses such as PCI and PCI Express directly call routines in the HAL to access I/O ports and registers of their devices. The drivers use HAL routines because different platforms may require different implementations of these operations. The HAL implements the operations appropriately for each platform, so the same driver executable file can be used on all platforms using the same CPU architecture, and the driver source file can be portable across all architectures.
Please can anyone help me out with this!

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Do you still need help with this problem?
I will be notified if you reply to this topic and will respond within 48 hours.

While waiting for a reply, I have these 4 suggestions:
1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Get ALL available, Win8.1 compatible updates from the manufacturer's website.
3. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
4. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

FYI - hal.dll errors are (IME) mostly due to incompatibilities (which can also be hardware).
First check is the updates in Step 1 and 2 above (and for any 3rd party programs that you may have installed), then Step 3 may help to isolate any hardware problems
