Hi Johndaly & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

As it is clear from the dump files, the Direct X (dxgkrnl.sys) has been blamed but since it is a Windows component, chance of it being at fault is extremely less. In both the dump files, the "atieclxx.exe" which is "AMD External Events Client Module" and was running while the BSOD occurred. I would suggest you to uninstall the currently installed ATI Drivers using the Display Driver Uninstaller from this **LINK**. Once the drivers have been cleaned, reboot your system and install the latest ATI Driver from the manufacturer of the system i.e. ACER. It is strongly suggested to use the graphics drivers provided by the Laptop manufacturer to avoid stability issues.

Also, if you are given the option to perform a Driver only installation by the SETUP, you are required to do that only!

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Hi JohnDaly ^_^,

I apologize for the delayed response as I have been busy.

As far as I know, there is an option to install only the Display Driver and nothing else while installing the ATI Driver. Have you tried downloading the latest driver update from ATI and installing only the ATI Driver?

Pardon me for butting in, but you can extract the drivers to a temp file (while starting the installer), then stop without installing.
Then point the driver installer in Device Manager at the temp driver folder and let it get them from there.

Hi ^_^,

You are right John about this. On performing a Google Search, I came up on two articles over here -
How do I extract drivers from *.exe files « How-To Geek Forums

&

How to Extract Drivers/Files from Installers | moblog

@JohnDaly - See if you are able to follow usasma's advice and extract only the drivers and then install them manually using Device Manager. In case you are unsure how to do it, do not hesitate to ask!

Also, I would love taking a look at the latest Dump files generated when installing the latest driver from ACER so as to make sure that the cause is the ATI Driver.

Let us know how it goes ^_^
