Hoping it is ok to revive an old thread like this. Seemed like the lesser evil compared to starting something new for the same issue.
I am having EXACTLY the same problem as the OP.
I have attached the log collector, unfortunately it doesn't have any minidumps because when the machine crashes it refuses to generate any.
In my specific version of the problem.
Doing a "Scan for Hardware" causes a no blue-screen, no flashing lights crash. The mouse freezes up and everything stops. In case it is relevant, the specific task it thinks it is doing at the time is checking plug and play.
In addition, I have problems installing drivers. In particular I have a Logitech G15 keyboard driver which blue-screens about 2/3rds of the way through installation. This gives a MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION error. Unfortunately it doesn't send the diagnostic through to Microsoft, it just sticks at 0% complete, and doesn't seem to generate any sort of dump file. I have scanned everywhere on the system drive and cannot find a dump file.
I've done a full virus scan, cleaned some files and now everything is clean (there was only 3 minor infections), and have also run Memtest, everything came up clean.
I first experienced this with a different driver a month ago, have since then replaced the motherboard and processor (over a different issue, which actually turned out to be the PSU), and have managed to install that driver successfully.
System Info
Processor: Intel i5-4590
Mobo - ASRock Extreme 6
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 7900
Memory - 16GB (4x4GB) Kingston DDR3 1333mhz
Hard Drives
Intel SSDSCBW180A4 - System Drive
Samsung SSD 840 Pro series
Western Digital WE10EADS
Western Digital WD3003FZEX
