did that, and now iomap64.sys is causing a BSOD upon boot every time. I can't get into windows on that PC now.

Was able to use a system restore point to get back into windows. Removed AVG again, but now I'm getting like 5-9 fps in game, where i was getting 70-90.

That's a system file of some Asus (ASUS Kernel Mode Driver, Asus Smart Doctor/iTracker 2 Asus GPU Tweak and GPU Tweak) driver. Please uninstall them as they are known to cause BSODs.

all asus software has been removed, and nothing asus is showing up in the device manager. gaming is still painfully slow, even after a re-install of video drivers

14.9 drivers. I'm currently trying to recreate the BSOD in WoW.

No more BSODs in a few hours of gaming, which is good, but still getting 1/2 the FPS I should be. Is driver verifier taxing my system? Should I keep it enabled, or shut it off after a certain amount of time? Going to keep stressing the system tonight to try to cause another BSOD.

Disable Driver Verifier. Reboot your PC and check your FPS. From the looks of it, the cause of BSODs was AVG.

Yes, disabling Driver Verifier resolved the FPS lag I was getting. I'm now running with updated drivers, but no Asus software installed. It was actually a bit of a pain to find and remove it all. The AVG tool actually didn't work, and just kept looping an error in the dos screen that was too fast for me to read. I did, however, re-install, and then uninstall AVG via the programs and features menu in the control panel, which seemed to get everything. I'll let you know in the morning whether or not we have a fix, as it's never gone overnight without crashing. Thank you so much for your support.
