Solved BSOD Registry Error

Hi everyone,

I've been experiencing BSODs without an obvious trigger on my PC for the last 12ish days. As far as I'm aware the last change made to the computer before the problems began was a Microsoft critical update. As per advice on other websites I've taken the following steps without success:

Attempted a system restore - failed with unspecified error 0x81000204
Run Microsoft analyzer on a couple of the dump files - result 'probably caused by ntkrnlmp.exe'
Checked my drivers for currency - scan concluded that all drivers were up to date

Any help would be very much appreciated, I'm not sure where to go from here.
Many thanks

Hi Sys8user & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I am extremely sorry for the delay caused in replying to you. We have been very busy :(

Unfortunately, the ZIP file uploaded by you does not contain any information and is empty :(
Please re run the SF Diagnostic Tool till the time it says that it has finished the work or for 15 minutes.

And I would need the dump files to analyse in order to pin-point the cause in this case.

Have you tried booting using the Last Known Good Configuration?
Follow this guide - Using Last Known Good Configuration

If you can boot up into Safe Mode or normally into Windows, run the DISM as per the below instructions :-
Then please run the following DISM commands to see if there's any problems with the system (from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt). Press Enter after each one:
Code:

Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Code:
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
If the problem is fixable, you can use this command to repair it (from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt). Press Enter after typing it:
Code:
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
From this article: Repair a Windows Image

Once this is done, also run sfc.exe /scannow from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt to check for further corruption.

Hi blueelvis,

The delay was no problem, thank you for your time and recommendations. I think that the problem has resolved itself as I have not experienced any BSODs during the past few days. I will certainly keep your advice re the Last Good Configuration in mind should the problem recur. Hopefully I won't be back for more help :)

Many thanks
