Random FROZEN screen-Dell n5010- Mostly Surfing

Hey All!

This is my first ever post of this sort,
So, I've been suffering from these frozen screen for more than 6 months at least, I just can't take it anymore:shock:

The screen freezes with everything immovable on screen until i hard reset it!
I seem to have all possibly updated drivers, bios etc.

I would be super grateful for any kind of suggestions to fix this issue, Pls find the attached SF debug report as well.

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Samdj & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

Unfortunately, the ZIP files does not contain any Dump files to analyse.

I checked the Event Log and according to them, the logs there is a continuous error in initializing a Device Driver. I would suggest you to remove any attached USB Devices/Peripheral Devices from the system. Please make sure you remove the Mblaze or the Huawei Device as well.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

I have worked on systems in that past where when a wireless network adapter gets disconnected and can't reconnect automatically to the network for whatever reason it freezes screens not specifically browser pages but the computer itself. Generally it would reset itself after a minute or so though.

Normally I suggest to clients to make sure all drivers are up to date as blueelvis has suggested.

Thanks a lot blueelvis & loveandpower for the feedback :)

I uninstalled all the usb drivers including Huawei's and reinstalled it.

And as for the Dump file, Unfortunately there aren't any saved.,

So I just ran into a BSOD with the error msg "BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER".

This has never happened before, it was always screen being frozen.

I've also attached the dump file.
Thanks guys!

So according to the Dump file, the device was assigned invalid Physical Memory by the "usbehci.sys". Now since this driver is a part of the Windows Operating System, the chance of it being at fault is extremely less. The parameter which I have highlighted in BLUE represents the Vendor ID of the device we are talking here about.

On checking the Vendor ID on www.pcidatabase.com , we find that it is of an Intel Device.
Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system :-

According to the Dell Support website for this laptop, there are no Windows 8.1 drivers available for it. See if you can find any Chipset driver updates for your system from the Intel Website.

Also, like I asked you in my previous post to remove the Huawei Device and then check the system for stability. Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Thanks blueelvis for taking time out for the analysis, However I've checked driver updates for the chipset but in vain.
And the problem did occur again.

I will try without the Mblaze device for stability and report back.

Oh and there's abit of history to this incidence, Before i started using the mblaze device(3 months), i used to have issues waking up from sleep mode but a recent ati driver update resolved that but this freezing came up soon after.

In case of further problems, kindly run the SF Diagnostic Tool again and then upload the ZIP Files so that those could be analysed.
