Random BSODs, some occure at start up, 7e,3b

I have been having blue screen problems for a while now. I originally thought it was RAM related but I tested with memtest and found no errors after 5+ passes on each stick on my old motherboard. Then I thought it was motherboard. So I got a new motherboard and reinstalled Windows.

My PC has also had a strange problem where when the monitor goes to sleep the USB mouse and keyboard sometimes turn off and won't come back even when they are unplugged and plugged back in (this happened on both the old and new motherboards).

I went to reset the PC so I could get back into windows (like I have done in the past) and then blue screens and strange stuff started happening. The PC would not boot back into windows it tried and blue screen and crashed and it also would just sometimes sit at the motherboard POST screen being non responsive. I couldn't enter the BIOS or boot menu. I finally took out my pcie sound card and re-seated one stick of RAM and it booted back into windows like normal.

There seems to be no pattern to the BSODs.

I have also ran chkdsk and used CrystalDiskInfo that shows the drive is ok.

I am very frustrated with this as it's been going on for a long time. Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner (along with EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Please start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Please rerun MemTest86+ for at least 3 passes on the new motherboard (if you haven't already).

Also, Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility: HWMonitor CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

The drivers that are [DEL]struckout[/DEL] don't have updates available (AFAIK).
DO NOT delete them, just leave them be.

You can try unplugging the system from the wall, removing the RAM, and then cleaning the slots out.
Then try the RAM stick by stick in one slot (and run 3 passes of MemTest on it), then do that with the rest of the sticks.
If any of the sticks passes the RAM test, then test that stick in the other slots w/3 passes of MemTest.

Good luck!
