Hello, was wondering if anyone could possibly help with this problem. It just happens randomly could be watching movie or playing a game. Its usually Clock_Watchdog or WHEA_UN CORRECTABLE error. I've attached a zip file of the crash dumps. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :geek:

The WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR means that there was an error reported by the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA) which caused the Blue Screen. This is generally observed when some low level driver (Pointing towards --> MSI) does something bad, or there is a defect in the processor or the processor or a hardware component is OVERCLOCKED.

If you are overclocking then please stop it and revert to STOCK Settings which can be achieved by resetting the BIOS Settings to Default.

Please remove ALL The Asus Bloatware present on the system before proceeding further.

If the BSOD's still do not stop then please perform these Processor Diagnostics over **HERE** and report back the result. Also, make sure you do run the Intel Stress Test as well using this **GUIDE**.

Please make sure that your system is not overheating and there is proper ventilation as well.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Now as we can see that the Processor 4 (On which the instruction was running) reported a Cache error in the L0 Cache. Now, since you are not able to run any of the Testing tools, I would advise you to firstly check the Temperature of your machine using this free **TOOL** to make sure that the CPU is not overheating. Report back with the temperatures.

Also, did you reset your BIOS Settings?

If nothing works in the end, you would have to buy a new processor. But, don't buy it before I say so.

Let me know how it goes ^_^

Hello blueelvis,

I tested the temps, they seem to be fine. I did have XMP enabled in the Bios. Only because it seems to crash less when that is enabled. So, set that back to default and ran some tests. I've attached some dump files and screenshots with core temp showing temps. It did pass some tests. But not Prime 95 and the computer crashed a couple of times before passing the Intel Burn Test.

Hi Johnboston ^_^,

So, you mean to say that it passed some tests and some tests failed right?

Did you reset the settings from the BIOS?

Also, according to the screenshots, your Voltage levels are very low IMO but I am not sure and furthermore, the CPU is running at 1200Mhz which is strange. I would ask an expert on overclocking to take a look at here.

When I checked the voltage on my laptop at idle using CoreTemp, it was showing as 1.18V.

Please wait for a reply ^_^.

Hello Blueelvis,

Yes, it passed some test, and some tests failed. I did reset the Bios as well. I think the voltage and CPU speed are affected by the Speed Step technology. At the time of those screen shots the computer was Idle.

Disable the Speed Step technology at the moment. Please provide me with freshly generated SF Diagnostic ZIP file so that it could be analyzed and checked if the processor is faulty or not. (Just to make sure :) )

Hi Blueelvis,

Ok, I disabled Speed-Step. The computer is now running at 3.8 GHz. The voltage is 1.3311v. That is what it is constantly.
Anyhow the computer still constantly blue screens. I'm beginning to think the CPU is defective. Any chance of an RMA to Intel??:zip:
I would like to thank you very much for trying to resolve these issues I'm having. I truly appreciate it. I've attached the .dump files for you to look at.

I'm unsure of what blueelvis is looking for in your upload, but as you've had issues in Prime95 I have a suggestion.

Prime95's Blend test primarily tests RAM - so RAM is suspect,
But it also tests the memory controller and the CPU cache
To help rule them out, you'll have to run Prime95's Large FFT test and the Small FFT test.
Then you have to figure out which crashes fastest, and which crashes slowest - this will help us to figure out where the fault lies.

Hi Johnboston1 ^_^,

I just wanted to make sure that the processor is at the fault here and nothing else since replacing the processor is a tedious and costly process :)

The latest dump file spit out that there is error in the L0 cache in the Processor #4.

I would say that the processor is defective.

In one of the dump files though, I saw that the Process running when crashes was the NvStreamKS which is the NVIDIA Streaming Service. Please disable that immediately as it is known to cause issues. The service can be disabled by going into "Services.msc" (typed on the Run Prompt which is accessed by Ctrl+R) and then disabling the NVIDIA Streaming Service.

If you can RMA it to Intel, then do it.

But, first please follow the advice suggested by Usasma and post back the results. The next post of yours should determine the root cause of the problem 99%. :)

Hi Guys.

OK here is whats happening, With Speed Step disabled and the CPU voltage manually set at 3.3311v, and Ghz is at 3.8, the computer blue-screens much less than it had been. Ive been able to run Prime95's Large FFT for 4 hours and the Small FFT test for 4 hours without crashing but still randomly get a blue-screen at other times watching a movie or gaming. I've attached some dump files. for you to look at. I'm sure there is still something wrong with the CPU so i'm going to get the numbers off it and try to see if its still under warranty. Again i want to thanks you guys for trying to help with this issue.
