Random BSOD once a day, mini dumps attached

Okay guys, for the record, i'm overclocked. I've ran stress test on both the CPU,RAM, and Video card. I've never had an issue with heat (i monitor it closely) or during a time of intense gaming/processing. I get a random crash/reboot whenever i'm using relatively low processing power(browsing or in the lobby before a game starts). Ive gone to my motherboard manufacture website and updated all the drives and BIOS. Windows it up to date. Nothings changed. Here are the links to my last 2 mini dumps. Any help is appreciated. Any help is appreciated.

Also wanted to add, that I tried running driver verifier and I kept constantly crashing during boot.

Hi stanielz and welcome to Eight Forums,
BSOD's are frustrating for everyone and many times difficult to find the cause, look it over carefully. Take a screen shot of it with a digital camera to print out so we can know wich BSOD you are having and we will help you out.

I would need to wait for it to do it and, but since it only happens once every couple of days it might be a bit. I was able to pull a dump file from my driver verifier BSODs and got this.

"DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION (c9)
The IO manager has caught a misbehaving driver.
FAULTING_IP: nt!ViGenericSystemControl+0fffff801`cac93b90 4c8b05d12cc8ff mov r8,qword ptr [nt!pXdvIRP_MJ_SYSTEM_CONTROL (fffff801`ca916868)]
MODULE_NAME: LGVirHid
IMAGE_NAME: LGVirHid.sys"

Looked up that driver and saw that it was logitech driver, I own a logitech mouse. Checked the driver and saw it was outdated, and had to manually update it because "check for updates" wasn't finding it even though I trusted it.Did some more digging, found that I didnt have a proper audio driver installed (was using generic instead of Realtek as per MSI website). Do you guys think this stuff would be responsible? Driver Verifier BSOD:https://www.dropbox.com/s/58qaljy8lfurax5/082614-9171-02.dmp?dl=0

Turn off Driver Verifier. To do this open up verifier.exe and select "Delete existing settings", then click on Finish and reboot the system.

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

You're correct about the Logitech driver. Also, Logitech doesn't update them very often.
I'd suggest temporarily uninstalling the Logitech software to see if that helps.
If it doesn't, then try another mouse.

The last memory dump points to the mouse, but the other 2 are generic hardware errors.
Not all of your drivers appear updated, there are several that date from before Win8.1 was released.
Double check at the manufacturer's website for Intel Tuning (in the Utilities section) and Intel Watchdog updates

It didnt actually mention anything was out of date and all those questionable drivers it mentions up here ^^ are up to date as far as i can tell. I updated the logittech stuff.

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8.1
FYI - I scan drivers by date, not by version (doing it by version would take much, much more time).
Anything that's from before the OS was released is suspect.
But there are a number of earlier released drivers that work just fine.
Also (because we're only looking at the date), it's possible that the driver isn't the problem - but that other components of the installation package are to blame.

If you'll notice, I didn't highlight the MBfilt64.sys driver even though it dates from 2009.
That's because it's the latest version and it seems to work quite well w/Win8.1
The intelppm.sys driver is the latest version also (and it's actually a driver from Microsoft - not from Intel)

I don't suspect that the Intel stuff is out of date (that's why it's not highlighted) - but it's always best to check, especially when it's older than Win8.1 is. FYI - I have had issues with the Intel driver scanner not working properly for me - so I don't use it any more. I suspect that it's due to the drivers from the OEM manufacturer's (they rebrand/modify some of the Intel drivers for their own purposes - which may include compatibility fixes).

On to the reports......

Only 56 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 70 to 90 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

Riva Tuner (along with MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

The last 21 memory dumps all were Driver Verifier Enabled and all blame the Logitech software.
If, after turning Driver Verifier off, the BSOD's continue - please uninstall the Logitech software.
If the mouse doesn't work without it's software - or it doesn't stop the BSOD's, then try another mouse temporarily.
I suspect the mouse hardware because the previous (before Driver Verifier) memory dumps were all STOP 0x124's - which are most often indicative of a hardware problem (but not 100% of the time).

Just FYI - in most cases there's not an updated Logitech driver dated later than 2009 (and in most cases they work just fine). I have a Logitech wired USB Trackball and the drivers for it date from 14 March 2014 (but I have no idea where I got them from!)
