It is my belief that amd_xata.sys is malware/virus and that is why it is on your machine to begin with.
If you upload amd_xata.bak (renamed already as instructed) to
Jotti's malware scan, I am betting it will say infected.
In this case, it is my highest recommendation t
o low-level format the HDD with this:
Erase hard drive by Active@ KillDisk. Low Level Format.
And then re-install Windows 8 after.
First though, see what jotti says. If it is malware, it is of the particularly nasty type and a low-level format is necessary for the future security and stability of your machine.
If the file is clean though, then you should already be alright with everything.
I think it's malware for 4 reasons:
1) The real AMD driver is amdxata.sys
2) Only one hit in Google for this, besides here, which is strange:

3) You don't have AMD chipset
4) AMD drivers do not generally bsod.
