Solved BSOD appearing often, no particular trigger for it

Hi guys!

I just formatted & installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I'm getting a lot of BSODs.

All of them "Critical Structure Corruption", can't quite pin-point anything specific. I've been installing some programs I use, etc.
Just now - it actually BSOD'ed while I was running the SF Diagnostic tool!

I have an Acer Aspire 5820, Core i3.

Thank you kindly for your help;

Hi Sp00nk & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analyzed your dump files and it seems that the Driver Verifier is running and it is not pointing towards anything (Analysis Inconclusive). May I ask why did you start the Driver Verifier.

Please disable the driver verifier by opening an elevated Command Prompt and typing in "verifier /reset" (Without the quotes). After this restart your system and see if you are still experiencing the BSOD's or not.

In case of any further problem, do not hesitate to post back ^_^.

Hi BlueElvis!

Thank you very much for your reply! This laptop is really critical, so you're doing me a great service.

I read somewhere (in these forums?), that I should run driver verifier to stress all drivers and figure out which one is the one causing the BSOD, then update it. I turned it on yesterday and I thought it accelerated BSODs.

I turned it off this morning after having posted the dumps, but still got about 4 BSOD since.

Attaching a new zip with only the most recent dumps, the verifier should be turned off in them.

Cheers,

-Dan.

Hi Sp00nk,

I have analyzed the dump files and there is nothing in that. Apparently the dump is corrupt. Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system :-

Please follow the steps below :-

  1. Please remove Daemon Tools/SPTD as they are known to cause the BSOD's. Please remove the SPTD using this **GUIDE**.
  2. Please update the Intel Management Engine drivers (Probably your CHipset drivers which could be obtained from the manufacturer of your Laptop).
  3. Please update the software for your Huawei Device as they are old and likely to be incompatible.
  4. Please remove AVG using this **TOOL**.

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Just wanted to let you know that you're kickass brilliant and you saved me, so THANKS!!

And... you may be surprised at what worked:
I started with the SPTD, looked into the guide, downloaded the latest installation files in order to run them and select "Uninstall".

When I ran the installation, however, it said my SPTD driver is outdated, and offered the "Uninstall" and the "Update" button. I decided to try the update first, then if doesn't work - uninstall.

Well, it's been over 24hours without incident (before it was crashing once every 30 min.)

So, safe to say problem solved! Hurrah!

Thanks again BlueElvis, and everybody else here - you're doing a great service.
