PC BSOD during Gaming and Video Editing Software IRQL_NOT_

Hey guys,

I've been having this issue with my PC for the last 6 months or so. I attributed it to an aging graphics card but had a rude awaking when I purchased and installed a new GPU yesterday and the problem still persisted.

The issue didn't bother me too much as I don't game too often but I just bought a new R9 280x card and was hoping to catch up on some games I've missed.

The issue that I get is when gaming (and using Video Editing software - PC BSOD's when rendering a video from After Effects CC for example) is that after about 20 - 25 min of running the game the PC will just crash and I'll get a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error and the PC will restart. This happens every time regardless of the game played or settings.

My PC temps are pretty normal even under stress.. max the CPU goes to is around 68 and the GPU around the same.

My PC SPecs are:

Windows 8.1 x64
Intel i7-930 2.8GHz
AMD Radeon R9 280x
16GB RAM
128GB Samsung SSD
2TB HDD

Things I've tried:

- Reinstall Windows
- Use only the SSD
- Use only the HDD (Bought new HDD)
- Switch out the RAM Sticks w/ New Ones
- Run MemTest and other software (everything came back clean)
- Yesterday I installed the new GPU, Reinstalled Windows, Updated all Drives and Windows Updates and the issue is still present.

Any suggestions guys? You are my last hope.

Please let me know if you need any more info in helping me debug this issue.

One more piece of information that may be useful.

I went through my event viewer and was able to identify this Warning Event that happened each time right around the time the PC Crashed:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{f8d14c1e-16d2-11e4-8250-806e6f6e6963}#0000000000100000.

It seems to be thrown up right after a system reboot though..

Sorry for the delay in responding, but your other posts made it look like this was getting responses.

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Only 40 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available.

Please install the latest, Win8.1 compatible drivers for this controller:
Marvell 91xx Config ATA Device IDE\PROCESSORMARVELL_91XX_CONFIG_____________________1.01____\6&31F68D52&0&1.1.0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
They should be available at the system/motherboard manufacturer's website.

You have both the AMD Catalyst Control Center and nVidia video software/drivers installed - please uninstall the one that does not apply to your current video card. I presume that you have an AMD video card, so you should remove the nVidia video drivers/software from your system.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

many different programs that center around the using of the WinRing libraries (RealTemp, Corsair Link2 (known BSOD issues w/Win8), Razer GameBooster, etc)
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=WinRing0x64.sys

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
