Hi,

I am sitting with my computer for weeks.
When my computer boots with the DVD, it shows Windows 8 logo for 30 seconds, then shows this:

Your computer needs to restart.

0x0000000A

How I can fix this?
BTW, I am now running Windows 7 fine on this machine.

Hi Hexagon12 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

Could you please describe in more depth as to what the component appears in the brackets while booting using the DVD?

Make sure that the Installation media is not corrupt and if you have enabled SecureBoot in your BIOS Settings. You could read this guide for reference :-
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/17058-secure-boot-enable-disable-uefi.html

Let me know how it goes ^_^.

Well,

I don't remember the numbers in brackets.
I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise Preview installation media and it's not corrupt: I burned it about 2 days ago. And I bought a new DVD, too.
My BIOS isn't UEFI. See my computer specs. This isn't Intel Pentium 4 problem. I read the forums, and it's saying, that Windows 8 supports Intel Pentium 4 "Prescott", but not "Lynnfield" or "Northwood".

Also, my computer has Hyper-Threading.

According to Intel ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18246 ) your motherboard is not supported for Win7.

The only drivers available for this board are XP drivers. There's no other legitimate source for drivers as Intel develops it's own drivers for the board.

I suggest that you stick with Win7 until it starts to have similar problems. The problems will be due to incompatibilities that are exposed with updated programs and Windows Updates.

OK. Now is the second problem.
When I boot from DVD, now it says:

Recovery

I/O error:0xc0000005c

This is with my HP computer.
Specs:
HP Compaq D330 uT
Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.8 GHz
3 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP 256MB (the same from that old D865GBF :)
Intel Chipset
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio

If not that problem with the I/O, it will install Windows 8.

No such error code, I suspect that there's an extra 0
I think it should be: 0xc000005c
This is what the error is:
// MessageId: STATUS_NO_IMPERSONATION_TOKEN
//
// MessageText:

// An attempt has been made to operate on an impersonation token by a thread that is not currently impersonating a client.
//
#define STATUS_NO_IMPERSONATION_TOKEN ((NTSTATUS)0xC000005CL)

This appears to be a security issue for a driver ( On-access driver error - Could not obtain an impersonation token. e03d000f or e03d02f0 )
I'd have to wonder about an infection or an incompatibility with Win8

As for the compatibility of the system with Win8 - I'd suggest that you contact HP and ask them why they're not supporting Win8 on this system. Again, the only drivers available for this system are Windows XP compatible.

Just FYI - in general a system from 2009 and earlier has a slim chance of operating well with Win8.
You'll spend a lot of time trying to make it work, only to find that it's so time consuming that you don't have time to use the computer as it was intended. I had this happen with a Lenovo system that dated from 2008.
If you must use such systems, then Win7 is a much better choice for you.

They are not supporting the drivers, because the drivers are in Windows Update.

And I trashed my Intel MB. Edited my System Specs!

Drivers in Windows Update are submitted to Microsoft by the manufacturer.

What is your new motherboard?
Are you still having the problems?
