New PC build. Win 8 install. BSOD due to WLAN device?

First I just want to say thanks. You guys gave me a lot of help on Win 7 when I was having BSODs. This community is a good one, that's for sure.

I keep getting BSODs after building a new PC and installing Win 8. The error I am getting from my Intel event log says: 2000 Error communicating with WLAN device.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the WLAN drivers but am not having any luck. I have found newer driver versions but none of the driver installs take now. Seems like the driver that was installed is now corrupt, or parts of it are lingering. When I uninstall the device and driver from Windows (cause I don't need it), Windows finds it when auto scanning for hardware and then I get another BSOD.

The ethernet device that seems to be having the issue is a Killer e2200 built into my MSi Gaming 5 Motherboard.

Log events attached. I'd be glad to attach anything else that might help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please perform the below steps :-
    1. It appears you have got the Killer Network Ethernet, your driver is a bit old and has BSOD issues with Windows. Please follow this **GUIDE** and make sure you do exactly it says and see if the problem still appears or not.

    2. Please remove MSI Afterburner (Or MSI Live Update 5) as this driver is also known for causing BSOD with Windows Systems.

    3. Remove CoreTemp as it includes the WinRing libraries which are known to cause BSOD's.

    4. Please update the rest of the drivers.

    5. In case you are overclocking, please reset back to STOCK settings.

I am targeting the Network drivers because it seems most of the BSOD's occured during Network Activity. Btw, you got so many BSOD known drivers

In case of further problem, please do not hesitate to post back ^_^ and yea, thanks for the kind words

Thanks so much for your help BlueElvis.

I just wanted to give you an update as to what has happened since I posted last night. I had been reading about all of the trouble with the Killer e2200, so I disabled it in the BIOS to try to see if that stopped the blue screens. It has slowed them down, considerably. I was getting BSODs just about every hour or so. Since I disabled the network adapter, I have only gotten one.

When I received that blue screen it was for "Memory Management", fwiw.

So, I don't know if I have more than one problem here. I am attaching another grab of the event logs, dumps etc. The last event, or two events occurred with the Killer Ethernet adapter disabled in the BIOS.

Many thanks. I will begin working on the suggestions you gave me.

I do have a question though. The first thing it says to do is cancel the Qualcomm Atheros Killer Service. Since I have the Killer card disable, that service isn't running. Should I enable it in the BIOS?

    Hi Jamie,

I think the service will still run even if the device is disabled in the BIOS but I am not sure on this one. Enable the device and then follow the Guide. In case of further problems, attach me the freshly generated SF Diagnostic ZIP file but make sure you try out the given suggestions

Ok, thanks! Will do. Updating drivers now.

Also, I cannot find the MSi Afterburner program or the MSi Live Update. Both were on my motherboard install disk, but I didn't install either of them and they aren't showing up under "Programs and Features".

I'd gladly delete them but I cannot find them on my system. Is there another way to find them?

    Hi Jamie,

There is the presence of "NTIOLib_X64.sys" in the dump files which indicate that the software is present on the machine. If you are sure that there is nothing like that then search for this driver and rename it to "NTIOLIB_X64-bak.sys" . Furthermore, you have got any MSI Software for managing the system? Uninstall that as well.

Anyways, I am now off for some DOTA 2 action and sleep, keep me updated.

    Good night!

Ahhhhh.....I see why you're seeing that. I have my "drivers and utilities" dvd in the D drive.

Ignore anything in the D drive. That's my dvd drive. I guess I should have taken that out before creating the dump.

I'll keep you posted on what happens.

The dump does not contain those drivers bro :P

The drivers I have mentioned were present on the system and running while the Blue Screen appeared so it is not that :P

By doing a search of the entire computer in Windows Explorer, I cannot find that file. I did delete MSi Turbo Boost and MSi Command Center, so maybe it was installed with those two utilities.

If there's another way to find that file, let me know.

Yups, that should have removed the driver. So, are you still getting Blue Screens?
