    BSOD - WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Unknown Cause

Greetings, my first post here is of course an error post, I don't often have much free time for discussion boards anymore, but random babble out of the way and onto the point.

I got the BSOD WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, this is the 2nd time in 3 weeks, not sure of the cause, first time it was just playing an old game and today it happened, it was watching a video and playing a game.

File is attached, I will try to answer any questions

Please perform the below steps :-

    1. Remove any ASUS Bloatware you could find in your system as there is presence of "ASIO.sys" in the drivers list.

    2. Remove Daemon Tools as it has been found guilty on many occasions. Once removed, follow this FAQ and make sure you remove the troublesome SPTD as well :- **FAQ**.

    3. Remove Adobe File Systems Driver.

    4. If you are still facing problems then remove the Avast Antivirus using this **TOOL**.

    5. Make sure your system is not overclocked.

If you are still facing problems then please do not hesitate to post back ^_^.

    Thanks for the quick response

1: Not sure how to locate the programme using this in order to remove it, any idea on how I can go about deleting it? I could remove the ASUS folder in the Programmes Files, but I'm guessing that might not be a fantastic idea.

    2: Done!

3: How do I go about removing this driver?

    4: Noted.

5: I have not touched the settings since getting the PC and I didn't request it to be overclocked, so that wouldn't seem to be an issue.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the rep ^_^.

    1. You could rename the folder so that in case there is any problem, you could revert back. Also, you would need to find the "ASIO.sys" by doing a manual search in your PC and rename it.

    2. Great!

    3. If you could find this driver in the manual search, rename it.

    4. Do this only if your problem does not get fixed.

    5. You should check the BIOS settings and see if there is any configuration mismatch or just Reset the Settings to default.

If you still face problems, then please upload the latest SF Diagnostic File and make sure that it runs till it says it is complete. Do not use program like CCLeaner as they delete the Dump files <_<.

Computer crashed again today but it reset rather than BSOD, looks like it was overheating, summer weather and a small room leads to poor airflow I guess.

Any lasting damage I should be aware of if I max out fan speeds?
    And what about underclocking?

But if I get another BSOD, I'll get that crash log, if it's just overheating, then that can be solved.

Improper ventilation can also cause BSOD's. Make sure that it is cooled properly and has got enough ventilation. I don't think you should see any damage on maxing out the fan speeds. Underclocking would reduce the performance drastically but the power usage reduced would be minimal.

Great. Looking forward to your update ^_^.
