Hi everyone,

Since I last updated Windows 8.1, I've been getting a lot of BSOD (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION) getting out of sleep mode or when booting/rebooting. I examined the cause of the BSOD with BlueScreenView and it seems to be caused by "igdkmd64.sys" (witch is linked to "Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8" )and "ntoskrnl.exe" (Microsoft Windows Operating system). My graphic chipset is Intel Hd Graphic 4400 and is updated to the last "custom" driver (10.18.10.3643) made for my Samsung laptop and its 4k screen. It would be very nice if someone could help me, and I'll try my best to answer questions if it's not too technical . I'm attaching the log below.

Thanks,
ExAtlas

Please reset your Overclock till we are troubleshooting. Once the system has been stabilized, you could overclock again. According to the dump files, the NETBT.sys is blamed which is related to Networking and is a component of Windows so the chance of it being at fault is extremely low. Below is a list of 3rd party drivers found on your system :-

Please perform the following steps :-
1. Update your Logitech drivers and if no update then see if BSOD still occur if the device is removed.

2. Remove your Daemon Tools Software. Follow this FAQ to remove the leftover SPTD components from the Daemon Tools :-
DuplexSecure - FAQ

3. Update Intel Smart Connect.

4. Please uninstall any ELAN Software you are having so that to make sure that it is not causing the problems :)

5. Try removing Log Me IN Hamachi VPN Client if the BSOD still don't stop.

In case of further problem, please do post back ^_^

Thank you a lot for your quick answer !

I uninstalled LogMeIn Hamachi, Daemon Tools but I can't uninstall my only ELAN software as it is my touchpad driver and the only way to configure it. Also, the only Logitech driver I can find is "Logitech virtual bus enumerator" (up-to-date) and I have absolutely no idea what software it's linked to. I didn't really understand the part with the overclocking thing, am I supposed to reset it ? (and how? Since I never did any overclocking myself)
I will tell you if I'm still getting BSOD after what I've already done.

Thank you so much for your help,
ExAtlas

Yes, uninstall the Logitech Driver if you are not using it as it is extremely old and be compatible with the Windows 8.1 . Aah ok, you could leave the ELAN software, I thought that it is some networking related software as the name suggests as well :p

In order to reset the overclock,
You can either press the red reset button on the motherboard (if there is one) or go into bios and load default settings.

or you can go old school and unplug the power and take out the battery on the motherboard for 15mins or so.

Okay I uninstalled the Logitech driver and its ghost software, and I went in the BIOS settings and restored every single option category to default except the "security" options. Now how can I tell if the overclock is gone or not ?

I think you can test that by going to Properties of My Computer and checking the clock speed of your processor and match it with your inbuilt Processor's default value which is 1.6Ghz.

Now, test your system and see if you are getting further BSOD's or not.

I found the frequency in my "memory performance" setting and it's not going over 1600MHz, guess it worked :p. I've been using my computer for two days and didn't get any BSOD. I'm gonna use my computer normally for a few days and mark the thread as "fixed" or post back with the log if I get another BSOD.

Thank you so much for what you did,

I used to get like 5 BSOD per day, and I didn't get a single one for like 3 or 4 days now, I also used to have a kind of "latency" when logging back from sleeping mode, and it's now gone ! I'll recommend this forum for any of my friend with an issue on his computer (or I'll probably come back myself :p)!

Thanks for your amazing work and patience,
ExAtlas

PS: I went on a Microsoft Forum first and they told me to send my computer back to Samsung (yeah right.)

That's really nice of you to say such kind words. Glad that the solution worked ^_^.

There are a lot more knowledgeable persons as well over the Microsoft Forums so never lose hope :)

In case of any further problem do not hesitate to post back here ^_^.
