BSOD from YouTube, Sites w/ Embedded adds (New Computer)

Hi, I just put together a computer yesterday, and while most things seem to be working fine, I've been having some problems with YouTube and certain websites that have embedded adds with animation. The computer either freezes up completely or sends me to a BSOD that cites the problem as WHEA_uncorrectable_error. It happens almost every time within a few seconds of the video starting. It also froze once just sitting on the desktop with only a Steam download in the background, but I haven't seen that happen again.

Oddly enough, I've run several games on Steam to see if it would have the same effect, but I haven't run into that problem yet while playing games. Netflix and Hulu also seem to work fine.

Nothing is overclocked. I got drivers for the video card and mobo from the company websites, although I'll admit that I don't know much about that. My report from the diagnostic tool is attached. My build is posted below. Let me know if there's anything else that would be useful.

    CPU: Intel Core i5 4590
Graphics Card: Radeon R9 280X (Sapphire)
    MOBO: Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H
    Power Supply: EVGA Supernova NEX750B (750 W)
HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200 RPM
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB
    RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8 GB
    OS: Windows 8.1, 64 Bit

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR with bugcheck code 0x124 refers that a severe Hardware Failure occured and Windows needed to be shut down to prevent Data Loss.
On further analysis, in each of the dump file, the Error occurs on the Processor 0 Bank 0 which indicates that the Processor is bad.

But, before we could say that, try to see if there are any updates to the below drivers :-

Now, I must ask you to stress test your CPU using Prime95 and report back the results for which guide can be found over here :-
Keep it stable, stupid! How to stress-test your PC hardware | PCWorld

Keep in mind that the stress testing should be performed while sitting in front of the machine and monitoring the temperatures. In case it gets too hot, please shut it down.

    Keep me updated ^_^.

    Thanks for the prompt response!

So, after some tests, I agree that the CPU seems to be the prime suspect. I used HWInfo to monitor temperature while running Prime95 on Blend, and within a minute the temp of the cores shot up to 90 degrees celcius, at which point I stopped the test. I'm not an expert, but that seems sub par. It cooled back down pretty quickly, and otherwise averaged temps in the mid 30's over the course of a couple of hours. I opened it up, and the CPU fan is running and seems to be securely attached.

So, that probably needs some sort of attention. I will also update my drivers... seems like a good idea on general principle. What are my next steps?

I am not sure if it is a CPU problem. dmp files only give you a glue and often does not point to the real problems. All your BSOD's were caused while running Chrome.
Please read this article if it applies to you with bugcheck 0x124.

This is expected when you run stress test with Prime95

Oh, I forgot about your earlier comment. I haven't installed any anti virus software yet. Could the lack thereof cause the problems that I am experiencing? If so, do you recommend MSE?

In Windows 8. MSE is replaced with Windows Defender and no, your problem is not related to anti virus software.

    EDIT: In addition
    1. make sure you have the latest BIOS firmware updated
    2. Latest Intel Chipset Drivers installed, the latest version is 10.0.20
    3. Reseat your RAM, CPU and check all the cable connections tightly secured
    4. Update Video driver to the latest.

    Hi Topgundcp,

No offense, but as you can see that the OP has very few drivers installed on the machine and there is furthermore no presence of any Antivirus. The WHEA bugcheck is generally caused by faulty hardware but can be caused by low level drivers so checking for the updates for the Chipset drivers is a good idea of yours.

But, in case if there was a low level driver problem with the system, I think we would have then seen different Processor and Banks at fault being reported which is not the case here. Different Processor Banks errors could also be caused in case the system is being overclocked but I think that is not the case as well.
And, in one minute reaching the 90 degree celsius isn't good as well.

@OP :- Please make sure that your cooling is sufficient and the system is not overclocked at all. Furthermore, can you run the Intel Burn Test from this guide?
IntelBurnTest - The new stress-testing program

I guess, you would need to open up the case and keep a table fan while the Test is going on to keep the temperatures a bit low. Let me know on the updates.

You should not worry about me being offended. More heads are always better than one. The bottom line is we try to help the OP solving his problem.

Being an overclocker myself, I am concious about the temp and stress test with Prime95 is expected the temp will spike up. If the temp reaches the CPU threshold, it will shut the PC down immediately.

    Cheers !!!

Great, it is good that you are not a hot head which I generally see people are over various other forums ^_^. This is why I like EF.

I don't think the system is overclocked at all. That's something I have to purposefully do, right?

I did a short run (5) using the IntelBurnTest, and here's what popped out:

    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz
    Clock Speed: 1.48 GHz
    Active Physical Cores: 4
    Total System Memory: 8089 MB

    Stress Level: Standard (1024 MB)
Testing started on 7/18/2014 4:53:08 PM
    Time (s) Speed (GFlops) Result
    [16:53:23] 9.655 92.5835 3.526496e-002
    [16:53:37] 9.630 92.8190 3.526496e-002
    [16:53:52] 9.636 92.7686 3.526496e-002
    [16:54:07] 9.676 92.3818 3.526496e-002
    [16:54:21] 9.687 92.2724 3.526496e-002
Testing ended on 7/18/2014 4:54:21 PM
    Test Result: Success.

I had the case open while I was running it, and HWInfo tells me that my core temps got up to 99 degrees. I could do a test with a larger number of times to run, but I wasn't sure if I can let my CPU stay hot for that long?
