Hello,

I have had many BSOD's lately. Most are occurring when starting games such as World of Warcraft, but they have occurred during other processes as well. The error message is for a Driver Power State Failure. I have looked on many sites and found nothing that suits my issue I will be posting all the dump files. Thanks for the help!

Hi mkb613 & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

We see that the NVIDIA Driver is blamed in this case. Could you please perform a clean install for this one? Now, since you are using a laptop, I would suggest you to remove the current drivers from your system and perform a clean install from the Display Drivers found at your OEM's support page as laptops generally have Switchable Graphics for which the drivers(From the manufacturer's) need to be modified and are only available from the OEM which in your case is ASUS. Furthermore, below is a list of 3rd party drivers found on your system :-

Please remove all the ASUS Bloatware from your Laptop and see if you could find updates to other drivers from ASUS and install only those.

In case you still have problem, do let me know and I would be glad to help you out ^_^.

Persisting Issues

First I would like to thank you for the assistance you have given me thus far. I have taken your advice and also purchased two premium software products to help with this issue. These products are Advanced System Care Ultimate and Driver Booster Pro. These products are designed to keep drivers up to date and in good standing. They also clean registries and defrag disks. Despite all of this i have still been getting BSOD's. I will post the dump files below. Thanks for the help!

Hi Mkb613,

I am sorry to say but you must not use products like Driver Booster or such utilities as one cannot keep your drivers updated, you would have to do it yourself :( . Furthermore, such products can make devastating changes to the registry of the machine which can make it unbootable so I would advise you not to use such products and if you have just bought them, ask for refund.

Below is a list of drivers which I still found in your dump files :-

Please perform the below steps :-
1. Do a manual search in My Computer for "AiCharger.sys" and then rename the file.

2. Remove Bitdefender (There are partial traces present) using this **TOOL**.

3. The driver highlighted in RED must be updated manually by going to the manufacturer of your machine and then downloading and installing the update for the ATK Utility.

4. Remove the Asus Wireless Radio Control.

The newer dump files still blame your NVIDIA drivers but please perform the above steps before we could proceed further.

What should I rename AiCharger.sys to?

Also should i continue to use advanced system care and just not driver booster? The IT professional at the university recommends it's use.

You could rename the "Aicharger.sys" to "Aicharger-backup.sys".

Regarding the Advanced System Care, I would rather advise you to turn on Windows Defender & Windows Firewall as that should suffice your needs for an Antivirus & Firewall. I would not recommend a Registry Cleaner because they can make devastating changes to the Registry which can lead to no internet, unbootable PC's etc.

But, if your University recommends it then I would say to use it. Just do not use the Driver Booster as you never know from where it is downloading the files from.

Let me know how it goes ^_^.
