Hello once again BSOD subforum of Eight Forums,

I noticed the BSODing started after updating to Windows 8.1 and the BSODs happen while using Google Chrome. Chrome would show first a violet out of memory page then go in BSOD. Please help me guys  Thank you. Oh and also it said "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" during the BSOD.

I have highlighted some drivers which need to be dealt with before we can proceed further. The drivers marked in RED must be updated and the ones in the BLACK must be removed/uninstalled. Rest of them, try finding the updates for.

If, the issue still persists, then please remove MalwareBytes using this **TOOL** and see if the problem is still being caused or not.

If this also fails then, please run a Memtest. Here is a nice guide which you could follow :-

Guide to using Memtest86+ - How-To Guides and Tutorials

Please proceed step by step only ^_^.

Great! As far as no BSOD's , there should not be any problem in keeping the Asus Touchpad Driver. Please test your system extensively and let me know in case of further problem ^_^

I have been using my laptop like I have been since before and it has not BSOD since then but Chrome still would go to the violet out of memory page but now it doesnt BSOD. I am currently searching on a solution for the out of memory Chrome problem.
Great that you have solved your BSOD problem and thanks for your kind words and the rep ^_^.
To help with the Chrome issue, check your Event Log and filter the results for "chrome.exe" or you can just rerun the SF Diagnostic Tool while making sure that there are Event Viewer Logs inside that and I would be happy to analyze them ^_^. I wonder if the problem would not be found in those logs.

Hi Ian,

I found only one reference to chrome.exe crashing and having at least some information with it and it has been provided below :-

Even though the date is pretty old, may I ask you when did you start having this issue with chrome? The rest of the entries in there are of no use as they do not have ANY information with them.

Hey wait, look what I found :p

Malware scan of delegate_execute.exe (Google Chrome) b3d25572645ba250480162aaa373b7e962af29fd - herdProtect

Also, the file path does not match but the version is an exact match for your version. And also, the compilation date is an exact match with your one.

Even though I am no malware expert at all but may I ask if you are seeing this issue in other browsers like IE or Firefox? I would say uninstall the Chrome, make sure that this file is deleted (You can search it in your computer) and then try reinstalling it from only the TRUSTED sources and see if the issue still occurs or not? Also, have you been seeing any Page Redirections when browsing the Internet via Chrome?

Please keep me updated on this one ^_^. I am hoping that your issue is resolved with this.

What exactly does the file do? It isnt an official part of Google Chrome that it is needed?

Im currently running a malware scan, I remember that I installed Chrome from the main site itself. The issue mainly happens while watching YouTube videos and not during other browser activities. It all started when I updated to Windows 8.1 Pro from Windows 8 Single Language. I have not tried using other browsers now or even before. On my desktop pc, I have Chrome in it and it works flawlessly. Thank you very much for EVERYTHING Sir blueelvis :)

You are welcome ^_^.

Rename that file and see if the issue stops from happening. That way we could confirm it whether it is the root cause or what? Please try some other browser like IE as well. Are you getting any Page Redirections like you visit some page but the browser takes you somewhere else?

HELP! Sir blueelvis or anyone my laptop had a 2 BSODs in quick succession, on the first was while on Chrome browsing EightForums.com and the second was after the the restart from the first BSOD just before I was able to log-in to my Windows User Account. Please help me sir, my laptop is almost just 1 year new... I haven't used it extraneously, only casual internet and for school. I have taken care of it by routinely cleaning it software and hardware wise. This 07/25/2014 my warranty will expire already... I attached a new archive from the SF Diagnostic Tool after the dual BSODs. Thank you Sir blueelvis and anyone very much!

By the way, the BSOD message is the same which is "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" :(

UPDATES:
  • I have updated my graphics driver
  • Got a 3rd BSOD today while on YouTube
  • Changed browser to Cyberfox from Chrome
  • SFC /scannow cannot fix, running DISM

Hi Iandrexp,

Mate, please stop calling me sir (I am 19 only and it makes me feel older ).

I have highlighted a few drivers above. Please follow the below steps :-
1. The driver highlighted in RED must be updated and not removed. Check the ASUS website for your laptop to see if there are updates for this. If no updates, then goto Windows Update and check if there are any optional updates for this.

2. Please remove the rest of the ASus Bloatware. If you are not able to find any software installed then check the Program Files to see if there is any. Do not DELETE the ATK Utility as it is important for proper functioning of your laptop (The FN key, etc).

3. Please remove the Daemon Tools Software. Then follow this guide to remove the troublesome SPTD.sys :-
DuplexSecure - FAQ

4. In most of the dump files, Malware Bytes was running while the BSOD occured. I would advise you to remove the Malware Bytes using this **LINK**.

5. Find updates for the rest of the old drivers.

6. If you are still facing problem then I would advise you to run MEMTEST86 using this **GUIDE** to ensure that your RAM is good and not the cause.

Keep me updated ^_^.

Do not install any other Antivirus till the time we are troubleshooting with the problems. Once, the PC has been stabilized, you could install them. But first make sure there is no further problem mate ^_^.
