Hi everyone!
So I recently bought a new laptop within the last month or so. Its the new line of Asus ROG gaming. i7, 12 GB RAM, GTX 860, Windows 8.1, 1 TB HDD.
I've been getting BSODs after playing games such as Batman Arkham Orgins and Borderlands 2. During the game, everything runs smoothly at near max settings. However, when I exit the game, my laptop begins to act strange. Programs won't open and it slows down. Then within 30 seconds, the computer will BSOD. I had the same program on my old computer but after updating some drivers I never had the problem again. I tried to do the same but at this point it can't really be ignored. The only game that has so far worked flawlessly has been League of Legends. I am able to seamlessly transition in an out of multiple LoL games without any BSODs. On a side note, I do not have AVG installed. I've seen this as a common tip when someone brings up this error.

Also, I believe there is a Driver Verifier BSOD within the attachment. That was just me trying to figure out the BSOD and messed up my computer in the process. I booted in safe mode and managed to sort that one out. Although, if anything still seems out of whack from me doing that I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know.

Thanks for your help in advance!

While this driver shows up in a lot of memory dumps and isn't to blame, one of your memory dumps (and it's a verifier enabled memory dump) does blame the nVidia Streaming Kernel Service driver. Also, several of the other memory dumps also point to video driver issues. Please do this:
From a previous post of mine (located here: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...artup-lid-closed-dpc-watchdog.html#post379761 ):
..... NvStreamKms.sys - an nVidia driver that belongs to the nVidia Streaming Kernel service.
Check this post out for a possible fix: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/573811/nvidia-streamer-service-may-be-freezing-your-pc/
Or, you may want to uninstall the nVidia drivers and then install a fresh copy without the Streaming Kernel Service (I'm not familiar with nVidia drivers, so I don't even know if this is possible).

Please try to update these older drivers. Asus may not have updated versions for your system - if so, just let us know. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

I'm particularly concerned with your bluetooth drivers as Win8 bluetooth drivers sometimes don't work well in Win8.1.

Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it.

I disabled the nVidia streaming service like you suggested.

I downoaded the ATKPackage from the Asus website. I can't install it though because a previous version is already installed on my computer. The original version is on my computer Version V 1.0.0031 and the new driver is V 1.0.0033. What should I do here?

For the charger driver I'm assuming you mean the ASUS USB CHARGER PLUS driver? This is the only charger driver I could find. It was released on 4/14/14 so pretty new.

You also mentioned that you are concerned with my Bluetooth drivers. Should I update all three? Broadcom is the only driver that I see on my computer that's also listed on the website. The other two on my computer are provided by Microsoft.

Don't worry about the ATK package or the USB Charger driver for now.

Update the Broadcom Bluetooth drivers. The Microsoft one's will be updated (if needed) when you get ALL of the Windows Updates.

Then we wait and see if things are fixed. If not, the please zip up the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and upload it with your next post. You may have to copy it to your Desktop in order to zip it up.

Good luck!

So after a few months of not encountering the problem, I got another BSOD with the same driver power state failure. I've attached the minidump files.

The only thing new is that I'm using a new second monitor. Not sure if this is what is causing the problem, but I was using a different monitor for the last few months without a problem.

I also checked the Nvidia Streamer Service process and it was running again. I had previously disabled it but it seems that it has started up again. I have now disabled it again and it doesn't start up when I turn my computer on.

Thanks for your help!

Don't worry about the nVidia Streaming Service. The latest version doesn't seem to have the problems that the older version had.

Update your BIOS using the in-built Asus Live Update tool. You have version 205 and they're up to v207 now.
Be very careful to read and follow all instructions when flashing the BIOS.

Please uninstall Norton 360 (save the license information/user information if it asks in order to ease reinstallation later on.
Ensure that Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall are enabled (look at the Action Center in the Notification Area - down by the clock in the lower right corner of your screen).

If BSOD's continue after that, then please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
