BSOD Power State Driver Failure

I just got my ASUS G750 from Bestbuy a few weeks ago. I've been encountering this same BSOD since I got it (after installing programs). Lately it seems to be happening when I close a game from the battle.net app and attempt to open another. Other than that it almost seems to happen completely at random.

Thanks for the help!

Hi SnakeDoc919 & welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analyzed your dump files and they all are of bugcheck code Driver_Power_State_Failure with the first parameter as 3. Below is analysis for informative purposes :-

On further analysis, the driver blamed is the "acpi.sys" which is a Windows component, and chance of it being at fault is extremely unlikely. Below is a list of the 3rd party drivers installed on your PC and I think that the ASUS Bloatware is causing all this. I have highlighted those Asus Bloatware drivers as well.

I have provided you with a link to each driver for more information. Please visit those and see on how and where to update them. Also, could you please remove your Norton and see if it solves the issue or not? Visit this link to get the Norton Removal Tool :-

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/in/home/current/solutions/kb20080710133834EN_EndUserProfile_en_us

But, before trying the above Norton removal see if this helps you out. Do the fix suggested in this driver link :-
Driver Reference Table - ASACPI.sys

This is a quote from Usasma :-
Today I found that Windows Update had installed a March 16, 2013 version on my system a while back (I don't recall it)
Today I found a May 17, 2013 version as an optional update at Windows Update - and updated my system with it.

Here's the info from my Update History:

ATK - Other hardware - ATK0110 ACPI UTILITY

Installation date: ‎5/‎26/‎2013 04:28

Installation status: Succeeded

Update type: Optional

ATK Other hardware software update released in November, 2012

I updated that ASUS ACPI Utility. Now I am getting the BSOD more frequently. Haven't tried removing Norton yet. I may try removing the ACPI Utility completely and seeing if that helps. I see mixed opinions on whether or not it is vital to have.

Did you remove the AiCharger.sys and the Norton Antivirus? In the mean while, I ll research more on this ACPI.

I ran into this exact same issue with my brand new G750. I found that ASUS has this program called Power4Gear Hybrid. Essentially, the computer runs in "Power Saving Mode" all of the time, which can be very problematic especially when it comes to gaming. It will cut power to that heavy duty GTX video card you have and make your computer BSOD. If you press FN+space, it will bring the program up, and you simply have to change it to "performance mode". I haven't had a problem since :) hope this helps!

Hi ^_^,

Thanks for posting this valuable information. This is why I asked the OP to remove any ASUS Bloatware they are having on their PC. I will keep this in mind though :)

Thanks!
