Hello,

My computer has been crashing recently. It has had a BSOD twice in the past 24 hours and says to search "DPC Watchdog Violation" for more details. I have uploaded the .zip folder created by the SF Diagnostic Tool here.

I have games installed on my laptop, but was not playing any when either of the BSOD's occurred. The first occurred just after I had woken my computer from sleep mode, and the second when it came to the login screen after booting up my PC the next morning.

This is all the information I currently have. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Have you tried the following.

Go to Control Panel > Power Options > click on "Choose What the Power Buttons Do" > click on Change Settings that are Currently Unavailable > unclick the box labeled "Turn on Fast Startup". (This turns off Hibernate, too.).

However i do believe this should resolve your problem

Without being able to read the full .dmp i can-not advise any further really.

All i can ask is how often does it occur etc...?

Cheers

It has never happened before. It has occurred twice in the last 24 hours, and that is it. I have also unticked Fast Startup, hopefully that's fixed it.

If you just perform those tasks, remembering the tasks so you can revert back in the future you should be all set.

It seems that something is causing your system to halt and it can-not be corrected.

This can be caused by RECENT drive updates and other installation applications.

As Windows 8x has a great way to update drivers and software without you knowing, this is generally the issue.
