Hi Guys, experienced this error frequently on reboots so put everything at default. The only things that have changed recently were:

  • Windows updates:- 2 x Windows defender updates; malicious software removal tool;
  • Downloaded a couple of games off Steam, Origin
  • The games may have installed dx or .net

Not really experienced on screen dumps and log files so help appreciated. Scanned for malware and used online checker, coming back clean.

The bugcheck means thatA fatal hardware error has occurred. Parameter 1 identifies the type of error
source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the
WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error conditon.

If we run !errrec on the 2nd argument, we get the error message as a Cache Error in Proc 5 Bank 1 in both the dump files. Below is a list of 3rd party drivers which I would suggest update :-

Hi blueelvis, thanks for responding with help.

When I got two blue screens (well in win8 it's not a blue screen anymore) I set it to stock as posted in original message (no overclocks). I will try to find recent versions of the drivers however some seem to be dated as there is no new driver. I did install SandBoxie a few days earlier too, however the windows updates (kb2267602, kb890830, kb2957689, kb2939576, kb2965699)were the night before the crashes, just wondered if they upset something...
