Hey!

I have this problem with my laptop for a week ago, I purchased this laptop (hp pavilion dv6 2170ee) 4 years ago. Now I'm currently using Windows 8.1 PRO on it. I recently upgraded my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB (a year ago). I'm using this laptop for work purpose, graphics like 3ds max, Photoshop and Autocad.

Well the problem started by getting a lot of unexpected shutdowns with BSOD with random errors ..

here's what I wrote:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
PFN_LIST_CO
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

the memory management error & IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error are the most appearing , although the memory management is the #1 error happens. This leads me to test my RAMS , I ran a memory check (windows memory check & bios memory check) both gave me no errors. I even replaced my RAMS with the ones which originally came with the laptop, same errors happened again. I tried booting in safe mode, at that time no errors occured , I though it might be the drivers , I uninstalled the graphic driver and restarted the system everything was fine until I tried to install windows updates, OS asks me to reboot ,after that system started and I didn't touch even the mouse ,it crashed with errors again

attached the zip file created via option 2 (SF Debug Tool)

EDIT: I tried also a clean install of windows 8.1 but still the errors occurs ! .... & sorry for my bad English..

Most of your dumpfiles point to Probably caused by : hardware ( nt!MiResolveTransitionFault+da ) and memory management.

You can get ahead start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

You are only using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter for your videocard.
Are there any problems with it?
Install the latest windows 8,1 drivers for your videocard.

Thanks for your reply ....

I make the debug file in the safe mode because every time I do it in the normal mode a blue screen appears and the file become corrupted ! , that's why there is no video driver running , I already installed the latest one for my video card.

I did the tests everything was fine except the memory test ... I installed my 2X 4GB rams and did the test on both , an error occured , showed in the image below:

View attachment 45419

so I decided to do the test again on these rams one by one , both passed ! ,so I make the test on the other mem slot only to check if the slot itself is damaged , the test passed !

While doing the test I noticed a high temperature comes from the fan , and a high CPU activity , I thought maybe the tempreture is the problem. Then I opened my laptop , clean it from the dust and put a new thermal paste on both the cpu and the video card, after that the temperature dropped and since then no BSOD happened ! ...

just wondering , can a high temperature cause a BSOD with that error codes I mentioned in the last post ?!
