BSOD playing Civ 5 and using IE 11

I am experiencing BSOD's while playing Civilization 5 as well as while using IE 11, I remember the error shown being DRIVER_IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL, or something along the lines of that. Help would be appreciated in pinpointing the driver that is causing this issue. I have uploaded the necessary diagnostic files. Attachment 45177 My specs can be seen in my profile.

    Thank you.

(Note: Used to be on sevenforums helping out people a lot, so I know my way around, except when it comes to BSOD's, I didn't further my knowledge in that area. Windows 7 Help Forums - View Profile: SlasherIT).

Your dumpfile mentioned probably caused by : HIDCLASS.SYS ( HIDCLASS!memcpy+1e0 ) and in the stacktext USbstor.sys is mentioned.

Looking at your driverlist is suspect that stwrt64.sys is the driver that is the culprit of your BSod. This is the (audio)driver for your
Independent Dual Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) etc. Your driver is from march 2010 stwrt64 fffff801`6dcc9000 fffff801`6dd48000 Wed Mar 24 05:01:24 2010 (4ba98e94) 0008864a stwrt64.sys and is probably not compatible with windows 8.1. Please update it.

Please update these older drivers. Links are includedto assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please consider it could be a possible BSOD cause or remove (un-install) theprogram responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driveras it may make the system unbootable! :

Note:firstcheck the support/driver downloadsite of your OEM model or system(mainboard) for the latest windows 8.1 drivers.

Thank you for the help. I have taken action and updated the listed drivers. If I get another BSOD I will post back here.

I seem to have had the same issue yesterday, happened with both Civ 5 and Company of heroes 2, crashing after a few mins of Gameplay with the DRIVER_IRQL_LESS_OR_EQUAL error being shown. At first I suspected it could have been my GFX card but all the drivers were up to date etc. In the end I rolled back the latest Win 8.1 update and it seems to have worked so far after playing on company of heroes, will test Civ 5 tonight and see if it is still occurring.

I got another BSOD today running the Internet Explorer 11 Metro App, the error message appeared to be DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER.

I uploaded the diagnostic files. Attachment 45591

    Thank you.

I got another BSOD again while browsing in IE, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

Both SF zip contains the same dumpfile from 21-06-2014

    The Dumpfile blames Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!_report_gsfailure+25 )

When aWindows/system driver like ntkrnlmp.exe is blamed when experiencing a BSOD
it's most likely not the problem. Most of the time further analysis is neededto determine the actual cause.

A driver has overrun a stack-based buffer. This overrun could potentially
allow a malicious user to gain control of this machine.
A driver overran a stack-based buffer (or local variable) in a way that would
have overwritten the function's return address and jumped back to an arbitrary
address when the function returned. This is the classic "buffer overrun"
hacking attack and the system has been brought down to prevent a malicious user
from gaining complete control of it.

According to our BSODindex the usual causes for this kind of BSOD are Device Driver or Malware/virus.
Looking at your debug driverlist it looks to me that all your network related drivers are up to date.

The bsod happened while you were browsing the internet and in the dumpfile a few mentions of security check cookies were named.
To be on the safe side check your system for malware/virus with Antimalwarebytes or other preferred app.

EDIT: Just got another BSOD immediately after posting, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

    Thank you.
