Random BSOD BC Code 0x00000124 ntoskrnl.exe Windows 8.1

I'm having this BSOD since months ago and I can't find a good solution. Sometimes I can use my computer for over a month with no issues playing everyday for hours.. browsing the web etc. But sometimes like today I get 2 BSOD's on the same day playing for example Final Fantasy XIV ARR.

I tried many things before like Memtest, Cpu test, etc and I can't understand if my Hardware is the problem or some driver. I also have an after market Cpu Cooler so my temps are fine and my case has really good ventilation.

I uploaded this dumps a few days ago after I used Driver Veryfier. I got a C4 BC Code error on those Minidumps and the problem was nroskrnl.exe. Only with Driver Veryfier I'm able to reproduce this BSOD.. is always random when I'm just using my computer.

I uploaded those dumps here https://mega.co.nz/#!F8NlwYbT!eaXDPOInSLLMWbWP1glv5rtGH2hMrNYw21z3Mxt2S_Y

I uploaded my latest dumps on this post using the SF Diagnostics Tool.. any advice would be much appreciated

Although I'm not convinced that this is a problem, try this:
From a previous post of mine (located here: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...artup-lid-closed-dpc-watchdog.html#post379761 ):
..... NvStreamKms.sys - an nVidia driver that belongs to the nVidia Streaming Kernel service.
Check this post out for a possible fix: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/573811/nvidia-streamer-service-may-be-freezing-your-pc/
Or, you may want to uninstall the nVidia drivers and then install a fresh copy without the Streaming Kernel Service (I'm not familiar with nVidia drivers, so I don't even know if this is possible).

Beyond this, as there were only 2 memory dumps (1 was corrupted) in the upload, I have these 3 suggestions:
1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
3. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings'

FYI - I suspect that this is a hardware problem, so the diagnostics are important to complete.

I'll try this tests.. months ago I tried a few and had no problems and my error was still the BC Code 0x00000124 ntoskrnl.exe and also hall.dll.

The thing is when I run driver veryfier I can reproduce this BSOD instantly.. and I get this BSOD as soon as my computer is trying to load the login screen for my account.

I've uploaded all my minidumps on this post including the ones when I used driver veryfier and I had to restart in secure mode to disable it because I couldn't restart the computer. I've updated a few drivers after some of this minidumps but the one with Driver Veryfier maybe could be useful.

I hope this new minidumps can help.. also I could use some information about how much time I have to do this tests ( memtest, prime95, Furmak, etc )

Thanks in advance for the information.. I'll be posting any new info

Back when STOP 0x124 first came out (it debuted with Vista), there were arguements between BSOD analysts about it being solely a hardware error. Eventually it was proven that this was mostly a hardware problem - but that compatibility and corruption issues could cause the error also.

The verifier memory dumps point to the thing that I had a hunch about earlier:

Run the diagnoistic tests this long:
- Hard Drive (until it's finished)
- MemTest86+ (for at least 3 full passes - overnight is best)
- Prime95 (24 hours, but you can get away with a couple of hours if no errors show up). Errors are either in the program interface - or the system will start acting up/turning off. Monitor temps in case the system overheats (anthing over 60ºC is a concern (laptops may run a bit hotter than this).
- Furmark (run until the temperature stabilizes/levels out). Errors will be anything that goes wrong with the system while the test is running. If the temp gets too high, shut the system off. Do not exceed 100ºC (if it gets in the 90's, that's too hot also)
- other tests (if anything goes wrong, shut the system down and report it to us)

The point here is that we're trying to see what happens when the system is stressed out - but we're not trying to destroy it. So be very careful while running these tests - as they can damage your hardware.

The last 3 memory dumps are all STOP 0x124's - which are usually hardware errors.
Additionally, there aren't any signs of other issues (such as compatibility or driver issues), so it's most likely a hardware problem.
Please ensure that you complete ALL of these diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Then, start on this procedure in order to attempt to isolate the problem component: Hardware Stripdown Troubleshooting

Good luck!

I'll keep testing but I really don't what else to do.. I only need to know what part of my computer is having this problems. The last time I did a fresh windows install my computer was working fine for 1 and a half months but suddendly started to have BSOD's ( same thing with windows 7 but it was fine for like 4 or 5 months)

I hope I can find the reason for this BSOD's.. I don't have spare parts to try one by one

This error is simply your processor reporting an error to Windows. The error that it caught occurred in the processor cache - but it's not necessarily a problem with the processor cache. Older processors didn't have this capability (so this is a fairly new error) - but even the current processors aren't advanced enough to report in clearer terms. The error can be from any part of the computer.

Here's is some documentation on the STOP 0x124 error: BSOD Index - STOP 0x124

Here's how to figure out what's to blame:

You run the hardware diagnostics that I suggested: Hardware Diagnostics
They will tell you if there's problems with:
- virus'
- hard drive
- memory (RAM)
- CPU
- memory controller
- video/video memory
You can report the results of the testing here, and we'll help you interpret the results.

If there are no problems, then try the stripdown link ( Hardware Stripdown Troubleshooting )
It will let you remove parts (rather than replace them) and test to see if any of those are the problem.
At the end, you'll either have figured it out, or will have ruled out enough parts that you won't be spending a bundle of money replacing parts.

There is no guarantee that you won't have to replace parts at some point.
Also, you can purchase parts from a store with a good return policy. That way you can return them (for your money back) if they aren't needed.

Or, you can take it to a computer shop and have a technician diagnose it for you. We charge $70 (US) to perform the diagnosis in my shop.

Good luck!
