The uploaded reports are incomplete. Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs. Let the app run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself says that it's done).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
3. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings'

Thank you for your response.
Since I posted the question I have resorted to carrying out a factory reset.
At the moment(fingers crossed) I have had no further BSOD.
I am however unable to do a windows update. I am not too worried about this at the moment as I am just pleased that my 12 month old laptop seems to be working again
:D

I'm glad to hear that it's working well for you.

Just FYI - there are (basically) 3 things that cause BSOD's:
- corrupted 3rd party (non-Windows) drivers
- broken/incompatible hardware
- corrupted/outdated Windows drivers

Should the BSOD's return, just post back here (with a new set of logs). I'll be notified of a response to this topic (and it'll be a quicker response than starting a new topic).

Good luck!

Well it is happening again.
BSOD with error code kernel data page error.
As soon as I can get it going again I will post a new set of logs.
It is trying to do a windows update at the moment

Okay here are the new logs.
It looks like I have now been able to do all the windows updates and so I tried to update to windows 8.1 after about 2 hours it said it was unable to update and restored the previous version:think:

Start with hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Hardware failure is the most likely reason for BSOD's to recur after a format and reinstall of Windows.

Also possible (but less likely) is corrupted Windows installation media (but not as likely).
If possible, trying a reinstall with other media will help to rule that out.

Failure to update to Win8.1 isn't as significant (IMO) as the BSOD's. My own system took 6 months before I could update to Win8.1. I still don't have a clue as to why it wouldn't uipdate!

The uploaded reports aren't complete. Please rerun the data collection app and let it run for at least 15 minutes (or until the app itself says that it's done).

Visit the Acer website and get all available updates (including any BIOS/UEFI updates).
Ensure that you get all available Windows Updates also (it may take several trips to get them all, so check back several times after rebooting).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Attached are new compressed log files.I let the app run so I hope that they are complete
I also uninstalled Intel Rapid storage technology driver as Windows action centre said there was a problem with it.
Laptop is still having random BSOD with error code. kernel_data_inpage_error.
I have still to do some hardware diagnostics

Only 138 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

I don't recommend uninstalling the Intel RST (although other analysts do recommend it). I prefer to update it straight from the Intel website.

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR's are often caused by hardware, so the hardware diagnostics are needed.

The latest BSOD is similar to the one's before:

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Well it was working fine up until Tuesday and then it attempted to do another windows update.
Since then it seems to be in a constant loop of attempting to repair disk errors only ever getting to 2% complete.
Is there anyway I can bypass this and maybe start up in safe mode or even enter the bios so I can possibly boot form a USB drive?
It is an Acer Aspire V5-431 series

More and more this is sounding like a hardware problem.
What were the results of the diagnostics that I asked you to run?
If you haven't finished them, here's the link again: Hardware Diagnostics

You can boot to a USB drive that contains another (bootable) OS.
This may allow access to your files, so you may be able to back things up.
I'd ask about this in the General forums as I'm not real familiar with the options available.
