    BSOD with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

    Hi,

I got several times BSOD on 5/15/2014 night and one time on 5/16/2014. It also happened some weeks earlier and I can't remember the date. And all of them are BSOD with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. It happens when I play games like Dark souls 2 or just right click on the desktop will also cause the BSOD. And sometimes when the BSOD happened and my laptop restarted, it can not detect my graphic card Geforce GTX 765m. I will add the logs.

    Kind Regards,
    Jing

    Win8.1Pro - Finally!!!

These devices have problems in Device Manager:
Bluetooth Audio Device BTHENUM\{61118058-486C-4BB0-B4B8-ACE4DCADEC44}_LOCALMFG&0000\8&1AF33893&0&000000000000_00000000 This device cannot start.
Virtual Bluetooth Support (Include Audio) BTHENUM\{CBECAB40-A2C8-4AB3-ADC1-DE0FE95D8600}_LOCALMFG&0000\8&1AF33893&0&000000000000_00000000 This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.
Bluetooth LWFLT Device BTHENUM\{DD533152-01F4-435C-ABFE-984BC21A2A65}_LOCALMFG&0000\8&1AF33893&0&000000000000_00000000 This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.
Please uninstall these devices and the Bluetooth software that goes with them. Then, go to the Alienware website and download the latest, Win8.1 compatible Bluetooth drivers and install them. Bluetooth has problems with drivers that are not certified compatible with Win8.1

All the memory dumps listed in the WER section of MSINFO32 also blame the Bluetooth drivers.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
    Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

If you can't find this one, don't worry about it overmuch. Just let us know so we can keep an eye on it.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
