It's been a while but I just got a blue screen and if someone could take a look and see what might be the cause I'd be grateful, thanks.

The only thing I've done was install movie maker and I read that might be the cause, it baffles be because that's about the only thing I've changed in the last month with no issues.

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

Looks like a hardware issue to me, or it may be an incompatibility.
I'd start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Check at the Hewlett-Packard website for the latest, Win8 compatible drivers for your system

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Okay cool, yeah I was playing online against a friend when this happened, but I don't know much about why a network adapter might cause a bluescreen. I haven't had any issues with any individual parts in my computer and I really don't want to think that I do haha, problems like these are usually fixed when I either remove or update the drivers you guys highlight for me. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if I run into anything else.

Quick course on Blue Screen crashes.....

Programs execute in the user space; drivers and other low-level stuff executes in the kernel space
Blue Screen crashes are caused by crashes of drivers in the kernel space.
Programs cannot directly cause Blue Screen crashes - but drivers can.

If it's an application, it's the user space
If it's the "system" it's usually in the kernel space
So the application log in Event Viewer is for user space stuff
and the system log in Event Viewer is for kernel space stuff (not just drivers)

Dpn't sweat the details - that's what we're here for. :0)
