BSOD dpc_watchdog_violation about 30 seconds into startup

I keep getting this error about 30-40 seconds after I type my password and enter Windows. Booting to safe mode is the only way it works (it's how I'm posting this.)

    Thanks for your help.

Edit: I also have gotten a driver_power_state_failure once or twice. What's going on?

You are using Truecript, and have already the latest version from feb 2012.
Truecript is at the moment not compatiible with windows 8.( with uefi and GPT).
Appearently some Hp-system are also known to be problematic with Truecript even under windows 7(BIOS version etc.)

This could also be the source of your problem.

The driver power state faillure you mentioned , was the module could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
Probably caused by : pci.sys. This is the driver for your videocard. Please upload to the latest version.

Please update these older drivers. Linksare included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable tofind an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for thatdriver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the systemunbootable! :

Note: firstcheck the support/driver downloadsite of your OEM model or system for all thelatest windows 8. drivers.
