BSOD on Startup: hal.dll and ntoskrnl.exe

I am having frequent BSOD (POWER_DRIVER_STATE_FAILURE) that only occurs after powering on my computer. After viewing the *.dmp files using the BlueScreenView program I downloaded elsewhere and installed, the majority of them are pointing to hal.dll and ntoskrnl.exe. I did at one point also had some point to intelppm.sys until I disabled "fast startup" today under Power Options to see if it would eliminate the problem. Still I'm having the same BSOD problems.

Currently I am running Windows 8.1 on an hp TouchSmart IQ506. I was able to manage to install Windows 8 on this model computer after overcoming the common issues people have installing this version OS on this computer (black screens during install, graphics driver out of date, other outdated drivers, etc).

To the best of my knowledge, I have kept all my drivers up-to-date using DriverIdentifier's website. I'm also running the latest BIOS made for this computer.

When I had Windows 7 installed on this computer, BSODs were basically non-existant and everything booted up just fine without any problems. But I would like to be able to run and keep Windows 8 on this computer if these problems I am having can be resolved.

I tried to attach the zip file I made using the SD Diagnostic Tool but it's larger than 8.00 MB (I have a 9.34 MB zip file) so I uploaded to my dropbox: http://goo.gl/PvuEDL. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

The WER section of MSINFO32 shows errors due to nw1900.sys - which are the NextWindow drivers for your touchscreen.
Please:
- download a fresh set of the latest, Win 8.1 compatible drivers
- uninstall the current drivers
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's If 8.1 drivers aran't available, please post back with the latest version that is available.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
