Hello,

First, sorry for my english, It's not my native langage :(

Since 2 week my pc (a toshiba qosmio X70), that I bought four months ago, had BSOD at different time (Driver power state failure). Mainly when I start the pc.
"WhoCrashed" reports said that differents drivers were in cause each time. Today it is ntoskrnl and ntkrnlmp.exe ...

I fear that there is a hardware problem ... Since I bought it, the pc make strange noise when I connect a usb device (a "bip-bip").

Thanks for the help

Please make sure that you have ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to ensure that you get all of them.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

You have 2 antivirus programs installed. Please remove (uninstall) the McAfee (Please don't use 2 antivirus at the same time)
If the other program (I believe that it's Avast) doesn't have a firewall, please be sure that the Windows Firewall is enabled (DO NOT use 2 firewalls at the same time).

Check for updates to your nVidia video drivers at the Toshiba support website. They were blamed in the memory dumps, but I'm not too concerned about them unless they reappear after removing Daemon Tools using the instructions above.

Hello,
First, thanks for your answer !

I have done everything, but after 2-3 reboot the crash happen again, with a BSOD.
It is possible that my pc has a hardware problem ?

I post an another report in attachment ...

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 81
    Computer type
    Laptop
The video drivers remained in the memory dumps, so they are a concern now.
It is possible that this is a hardware problem, so I'll suggest some tests for that also.

First, please:
- download a fresh set of the latest, Win8.1 compatible nVidia video drivers for your system from the Toshiba support website
- uninstall the current nVidia video drivers
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

Next, please try these free diagnostics. I'd start with the video tests (because video drivers are blamed in the BSOD), but please run all of them: Hardware Diagnostics

The video drivers were the problem, since I reinstalled the ancient version I haven't one BSOD at all !!!
Thank you !!!

But the "bip" remain. It's a "BIP-bip" at the start and when I put a usb device. By chance, Do you know chat may cause this problem ?

I believe that the BIP-bip is the normal sound a system makes when connecting/disconnecting a USB device.
I suppose it may also be done at startup if the system is recognizing a USB device.

Please restart the system and note the time, then insert a USB device and remove it a couple of times.
Then, please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Hello,

My BSODs have returned but now it isn't when I start the pc but all the time when I'm doing something on it.
I think that this PC has definitly a Hardware problem. You have helped me the last time, maybe you could again .... :(

Thanks,
Robin

2 blame video, one blames your touchpad drivers.
Please update the video and touchpad drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Please uninstall MalwareBytes until we've figured this out.

Did you ever try the diagnostics that I suggested? Hardware Diagnostics (especially the video drivers)?
Have you tried Driver Verifier? If not ,please follow these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

I haven't try the hardware diagnotics because the problem were solved after the uninstallation of the video drivers.

My video drivers are up to date.

I will try Harware diagnostics and Driver Verifier. Thanks !

As you updated the drivers recently - updating them probably isn't needed.
My concern with them was if they had become corrupted - then you'd have to remove them and install a fresh set.

Let us know the results of the Driver Verifier and the hardware diagnostics and we'll move on from there.
