Hey Guys,
I keep having BSOD's I did a upgrade from win 7 to 8.1 then I changed hardware in the comp so I was getting lots of BSOD's (I changed CPU motherboard and ram).
I did a bit of investigative work and found some drivers to be causing them so I did a clean reinstall of windows 8.1 and it got rid of most of my problems. Now however I use XBMC for my frontend as this build is an HTPC and if I alt tab out of xbmc to do something else, chances are good that I'll get a BSOD. Its about a 1 in 5 chance it'll BSOD
It's almost always bad pool header or some kind of 'pool' problem. I've also noticed in my bios it says I have 4gb of ram however in windows it says I have 2.
I'm wondering if it's a ram problem? I've run memtest for about 20 minutes no errors (I know thats not long enough I'll run longer later) Also, memtest doesnt immediately see my second stick, it takes about 3 - 5 seconds before it see's the second one, is that normal?
I can post crashdumps let me know if you need me to, and what ones to post.
Also CPU-Z says I have 4GB single channel windows 8.1 system settings says 2GB
