BSOD Playing Dark Souls 2 or any game..

Hello everybody,

I have been having this issue for a very long time the event viewer states: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

so i come here asking for assistance and asking for help.

what i did:

I updated graphic card
changed graphic card from AMD 6xxx Series to 780 GTX (problem still persists)
that's all i guess

please help me if you can i have added the SF file in attachments.

There are no memory dumps in the uploaded reports.

Please ensure that you have ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips there to get them all.

C: drive (your SSD) has less than ½% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty). I have seen BSOD's on systems with much more free space than this. I consider it critical for you to free up the space on your SSD!!!

You have 3 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

These devices have issues in Device Manager:

AODDriver4.2.0 ROOT\LEGACY_AODDRIVER4.2.0\0000 This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed.

The 2 USB controllers need drivers installed. I believe that these are the USB 3.0 controllers for your system.

The AODDriver4.2.0 is a part of AMD OverDrive. Please follow these instructions:

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.
NOTE: these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive. The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Since this problem occurred with both video cards (nVidia and AMD), I'd have to wonder if there's a hardware problem with your motherboard that's causing this. Please run these free diagnostics (starting with the video tests): Hardware Diagnostics

Lot's of Live Kernel Events in the WER section of MSINFO32 (but no STOP 0x117 errors - which is what you are describing). There are only 2 days worth of events there - did you recently clean the system using something like CCleaner (if so, please stop while we're troubleshooting)?:
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

I have uploaded Admin event viewer for the details that you requested and also i have done "sfc /SCANNOW" and it says "Windows Recourse Protection did not find any integrity violations"

I have cleared 15% of my SSD hard drive, and also removed "AODDriver or AODDriver4.01" i have uninstalled the driver's.

My power supply is something like this:

Evo Labs 850w with no 80 plus or anything, I have also uploaded cupid information also my power supply i bought that like 2012.

Interestingly, there are no Live Kernel Events in the uploaded Event Viewer logfile.
I can't figure out why they'd appear in the MSINFO32 report, but not in Event Viewer.

But, the biggest problem in the Admin logifle is many, many warnings about the video drivers.

I would suspect that this is a hardware problem with the video card - but you'd have to run the diagnostics in order to verify this. After completing the troubleshooting above, then start with the video diagnostics here: Hardware Diagnostics

This is a conundrum i have done a OCCT stress test, Intelburn stress test. prime95 stress test and also bootable memory diagnostics and the Microsoft fix it, i still keep having the same issues...this is so strange :/

I have uploaded the following stress tests and msinfo32 details, im not really sure what to do to be honest should i format my ssd disk and wipe everything then install it all again or?

also i have done the system file checker and still nothing it came out 100%

All i can think of is i think it might be the driver that i have installed on my computer that's maybe causing a conflict?

There are 3 things we consider with BSOD analysis:
- 3rd party drivers
- hardware (which includes compatibility issues and low-level driver issues)
- Windows drivers

If you have issues with 3rd party drivers or Windows drivers there's usually evidence of it in the logs.
Problems with hardware may/may not be in the logs as the problem may occur at a level below that that Windows understands/knows about.

The WER section of MSINFO32 shows Live Kernel Events from 27 through 29 April
The Admin Event log doesn't show these events
This is confusing - as Windows clearely recognizes these events, but they aren't being logged.

I'd try reinstalling Windows - but do it using these instructions: Canned Speeches

I have re-installed my pc and i tried dark souls 2 and the problem still keep happening...so im 100% sure its a hardware fault..somewhere :/ i just have a feeling its my PSU maybe im not sure what it is, but what i noticed is if i play a low spec game like hmm web browser game runescape, i NEVER get this BSOD crash, but if i play high spec games which require a lot of power so to say it starts having the issues...it's very strange really.

What should i do next? should i strip down my pc or? (also how do i test if a PSU is faulty?)

Start by running these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
The second set of video tests (the OCCT one) also has a PSU tester. Read the instructions carefully as I have no experience with this test.

IF that doesn't identify the problem, then start with this procedure: Hardware Stripdown Troubleshooting

FWIW - you can get an idea if it's the PSU by removing enough stuff that's not needed in order to see if it slows the BSOD's down.
Or, you can purchase a new PSU from a shop that will allow you to return it for your money back if it's not needed.

I have done what you requested except the strip down part I'm really not sure what is going on nor do i know why is this happening the game that it keeps crashing on at the moment of which i play is Dark Souls 2, if i do a strip down as it says and remove ram, how I'm i suppose to test the game out then?

Also the Memtest86+ doesn't work for me since no errors came up at all or on the OCCT or anything but only crashes during high spec gaming...this is so confusing lol :/

You ran the MemTest and the OCCT. Please try the other hardware diagnostics at this link: Hardware Diagnostics

For example, the Prime95 test will also test your memory - and will also test the CPU
Then the CPU test will stress your CPU.
The hard drive, in addition to holding files, also contains the pagefile - which is a part of the memory sub-system. So that's another different part of memory that needs testing.
Finally, Furmark and OCCT will tend to verify that there isn't a problem with the video.

Once you've run ALL of the tests, then we're pretty sure that these components are good:
- CPU
- hard drive
- RAM
- video

Also, keep a close eye on temperatures (especially when playing the game).
The temps from the previous screenshot looked good.

When doing the stripdown you'll have to keep RAM in when doing things in Windows
And, in most systems, you'll have to keep at least one stick of memory in the system in order for it to work.

But, this still seems like a video problem to me - yet you've replaced the video card and still have the same problems.
IMO that tends to point to either cooling issues, PSU problems, or a motherboard problem.

I would continue to monitor the temps.
I would try another PSU (if you don't have one, purchase one from a shop that will allow you to return it if it's not needed).
If the problem remains after that, then I'd figure that it was the motherboard. Replacing the motherboard is expensive and time-consuming - that's why I leave it until last. The stripdown procedure is also designed to rule out as much as possible before resorting to replacing the motherboard.
