BSOD (Multiple) on Windows 8.1 Update 1

    Greetings!

I have had a long history of BSOD issues on this system, and have exhausted my patience in trying to fix it. I have done my own research to no avail, and have even utilized my warranty to get parts replaced. At this point in time I have a replaced motherboard and video card but the BSOD issues have actually increased in frequency.

For testing I have re-loaded Windows. Ran tests on the memory. Replaced the hard drive with an SSD. Updated drivers as best as I could based on the version of Windows and availability of drivers, and as mentioned I have even had the Motherboard and Video card replaced. The only hardware left to rule out is Power Supply and CPU.

Anyway, I am hoping the guys in this forum can come up with better things for me to try before I get crazy and start replacing the more expensive stuff. This is a new machine so I feel like it is on them to fix if it turns out to be hardware related, but they want me to ship it to Texas for a week or so and I am not willing to do that.

My hunch is it is your PSU.

You have only a Lennovo 280 PSU, but you are using a Geforce GTX 650. And according to these system requirements you need at least 400 watt PSU
    Thermal and Power Specs:
98 CMaximum GPU Tempurature (in C)
64 WMaximum Graphics Card Power (W)
400 WMinimum System Power Requirement (W)5
    One 6-pinSupplementary Power Connectors

But my advice would be to change to a min. 500 watt PSU from a A brand.

Also your dumpfiles point to the above, many different bsod error codes which are mentioning lowlevel or windows system problems (win32k.sys, cd.sys, ntkrnlmp.exe, processname:system, hal.sys etc.)

And also most of your drivers dates are from augustus 2013 or above, so a thirdparty drivers problem is probably not the culprit, but it could be that one of your windows 8 drivers needs to be updated to a windows 8.1 driver.

But first upgrade your PSU and if the bsod keeps continuing, please upload a new .SF zip.

Thanks lifetec! I was definitely thinking PSU as well. I have ordered one that should be here on Wednesday. It is an RM650 from Corsair. I will let you know what if any change that provides. Thanks for checking it out and I will post my findings soon!

I replaced the power supply on Wednesday. So far I haven't had any blue screens. Note that I did also replace the memory, taking that opportunity to add more. Between these two things I feel that it is now resolved. Thanks again lifetec!
