Getting BSODs every once in a while, why?

Hi, for some reason I got a BSOD a couple days ago. It's not the first time I got one. Last time I had it was quite a few months(maybe a year) away. It gets stuck at collecting error data or whatever 100% so I just force it to restart and then my PC is fine. Is this something to be worried about?

Make sure that you have ALL Windows Updates
Check the PC/motherboard Manufacturer's website for Win8.1 compatible updates for your system.

If you only get 1 a year, I'd ignore it for now.

If they become more frequent, Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

I generally don't suggest updating the BIOS unless there's a problem with the system.

Should you choose to update the BIOS - be very, very careful.
Flashing the BIOS with the wrong files can physically damage the motherboard.

Triple check everything before starting the flash - and don't interrupt it for any reason
If able to do the flash from within Windows, do that as it's less likely to fail due to user error.

    Good luck!
